Position: Arrowsmith Teacher (Cognitive Classroom Teacher)

The Cognitive Classroom Teacher is responsible for teaching students in their

Areas of Responsibilities:
The Cognitive Classroom Teacher provides a positive classroom environment and guides, supports and
encourages all students, recognizing that students are working toward a common goal of increasing their
learning capacities. A cognitive teacher ensures their students are actively engaged in the Arrowsmith
Program exercises and following the exercise procedures. The Cognitive Classroom Teacher supports
students to stay motivated by teaching them the purpose of the exercises and finding ways of enhancing
their ongoing perseverance, utilizing methods of internal and external motivation.

Required Skills

We are looking for a professional, self-motivated team member who promotes a positive work
environment. Candidates must possess:

 Proven ability to multi-task

 Excellent eye for detail

 Willingness to help promote student independence and appropriate peer interactions

 Patience in teaching individuals who have difficulty learning new concepts

 Keep daily records of student progress

 Keep students and parents informed about progress

 Proficiency with online collaborative tools

Qualifications

 College diploma, bachelor’s degree or teacher certification


 Able to follow direction, learn new tasks quickly and work with minimal supervision.
 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including spreadsheets and data base software
 General knowledge of office routines
 Excellent computer and keyboarding skills
Skills:

 Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to people at all levels and maintain effective
working relationships
 Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication
 Ability to handle conflict/difficult situations in a professional manner
 Proficiency in promoting positive classroom environment using a professional approach
