I am a grade 12 student at R.E. Mountain Secondary School and I am interested in

health-related studies to become a medical practitioner. I found out about the summer
volunTEEN opportunity at the Langley Memorial Hospital through a friend and I would
love to gain first-hand experience by volunteering there.

I have a passion for health care and I am a motivated, mature individual, who is able to
efficiently carry out assigned tasks. For these reasons, I would be suitable in a hospital
environment. I have previous experience that involves communication skills and the
ability to be a quick learner, which I have demonstrated in my other volunteering/work,
which is closely related to the responsibilities for this position.

On the hospital website, I noticed that the job responsibilities include supporting the
patients/residents who are in the hospital. Providing exceptional care to people in the
hospital is a priority because I have resided in the hospital before and I know close
relatives who have, so the treatment of patients is very personal to me.
