THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE

Introduction
Throughout the year taxi have monopolize the use of private vehicles as open vehicle.

The government never fails to manage their services, however the taxi operators often have

poor activity in improving the nature of their service. Since the beginning of the new and

technologically advanced society, not to mention taximeters often have a big and crucial role

since taxi cabs have existed in late 1800’s “MapGo” is an application that aims to revitalize

the taxi industry. That want to improve the security and productivity of town taxis by

utilizing on advancements in Google Map GPS and mobile technology. This application is a

mobile that encourages customers to convey taxi calling requests to cab drivers through the

application software.

That need to improve the security and profitability of town taxis by using on

headways in Google Map GPS and portable innovation. This application is a versatile that

urges clients to pass on taxi flagging down solicitations to taxi drivers through the

application.

1.1 Background of the Study

Some people falter in a quagmire situation that appears to be difficult specially tabulating

and saving their extra money for migration especially in work days, even the taxi meter has

been existing for many years but people doesn’t even close in guessing the correct payment

between areas this because of fare matrix inconsistency and it also affects the environmental

economy based on the oil price hike thus, such spontaneous changes occurs of taxi meter

have occurred, the researchers of this study have able to program an applications with Global

Positioning system that allows user to know the approximate payment between areas

dependent on the kilometers and travel time and it is crucially dependent on the internet itself

1.2 Conceptual Framework

Figure 1.1 shows the basic Input-Process-Output (IPO) model of the application

software, the application will display the Google Map based on the current location provided

by Global Positioning System and it will calculate based the kilometers between the user’s

current location up to his/her desired location and the calculations are based on the LTFRB’s

current taxi fare. The output of the application software will display the travel time,

kilometers between locations and destination and approximate fare.

1.3 Statement of the Problem

Some people have immersed themselves to a strange and protracted dilemma where

they have the sufficient amount of money to pay the taxi driver, in order to know such thing,

individual must ride and contemplate the taxi in order to know the meters output, since traffic

and other road activities are unpredictable, thus it may cause some anomaly in your

calculated payment. Road accident can seriously affect the payment due to traffic.

Consequently, when regular commuters of taxi can’t calculate the exact amount that they will

be paying it can affect their day-to-day task or in worse-case scenario, it could jeopardize

them.

1.4 Objectives of the Study

1.4.1 General Objectives

The ultimate objective of this research is to calculate and vaticinate the approximate

taxi fare matrix.

1.4.2 Specific Objectives

The specific objectives of the research are the following:

 To calculate the approximate Taxi Fare matrix

 To provide a prediction of payment of taxi fare matrix

 To furnish the efficiency

Significance of the Study

This study aims to provide efficiency to all consumers only in Cagayan de Oro City,

however, since this application is current based on Global Positioning System it can be used

on other places. One of the advantages of this specific application is to give productivity and

affirmation of giving uncertain payment of taxi between areas. Also, can facilitate the client's

issue by giving an uncertain installment of the taxi.

Scope and Delimitations of the Study

This examination is just appropriate in Cagayan de Oro City. The previously

mentioned application will be helpful to a customer since it will show the estimations and as

though anticipate the taxi passage from their present area to their ideal goal.

This application software is GPS based in this way, it requires Global Positioning

System as it is critically subject to web speed so as to realize where to go and since the

developers of this application is not professionals – the application can be run by an updated

Android Operating System and crucially dependent on the specifications of the user’s phone.

Definition of Terms

Internet - it refers to one of the most important things that the application needs to predict

the approximate fare and to have accuracy in providing the existing map to the end-users..

GPS - it refers to one of the system requirements that is where the device is dependent on

how the Location of the application is displayed.

Fare Vaticination - it refers to the output of the system software where the approximate fare

is being displayed.

Taxi Meters - It refers to the existing and modernized Taxi Meters in the Philippines with 2

Pesos per minute and 40 Pesos starting payment.
