• Attendance for all examination is mandatory.

EXAMS FOR SESSION 2018-19

Nur-I (No Exam)
Class II–V:

• Four Unit Tests.

• No retest will be taken.
• Performing Arts evaluation will be conducted during their regular periods.
• Orals for various subjects shall be conducted during the days of the examination.

PROMOTION CRITERIA FOR CLASSES VI TO X

• As per CBSE Guidelines

The examination from academic year 2018-19 and onwards would be conducted as per the remodeled
assessment structure explained below.

1) Scholastic Area

In all five scholastic subjects, Assessment will be done in two parts- Annual / Board examination and

Internal Assessment.

a) Annual / Board Examination- Student has to secure 33% marks out of 80 marks in each
subject covering 100% syllabus of the subject. Marks and grades will be awarded for individual
subjects. 9-Point grading will be same followed by the board in class XII.

b) Internal Assessment – Student has to secure 33% marks out of overall 20 marks earmarked in
each subject.

i) Periodic Test / U.T. – Apart from Half yearly, pre-board exams (X) and Half yearly, Annuals
(VI-IX), there will be three periodic (written) test in an academic year. All tests are
equally important for final marks submission.

ii) Notebook Submission – This will cover regularity, assignment completion, neatness
and upkeep of notebook.

iii) Subject Enrichment Activity – This will cover speaking and listening skills in
Languages, Practical Lab work in Science, Maths Lab work and Map work and project
work in Social Science.

2 ) Co-scholastic Activities

Following activities will be graded on a 5-point grading scale ( A to E ) :

a) Work education or prevocational education ( clubs )

b) Art education

c) Health and physical education

3) Discipline -

Class Teacher will be grading the student on a five point scale ( A to E ).

NO UPSCALING WILL BE DONE IN SCHOLASTIC AREAS ON THE BASIS OF GRADES

OBTAINED IN CO-SCHOLASTIC AREAS.

IT IS MANDATORY TO PASS SEPARATELY IN BOARD / ANNUAL EXAMINATION AND

INTERNAL ASSESSMENT AS PER CBSE GUIDELINES.

EVALUATION AND PROMOTION CRITERIA CLASS XI

• Final result will be a cumulative one (3 unit tests + Half Yearly + Annuals)
• Pass percentage in subject – 33% in theory as well as in practicals.
• Students getting less than 33% marks in two subjects will not be promoted irrespective of the
aggregate.
• Students having less than 75% attendance (Class XI-XII) may be barred from taking
Annual Exams.
• No Retest will be taken.

Important- If a student is found using unfair means in the exams, zero will be awarded to him/ her the
first time and will be debarred from any recognition from the school authorities for that academic
year. If he / she repeats the same, the student will be asked to leave the school.

EVALUATION AND PROMOTION

Class Nursery – V: Assessment is done on the basis of tests and attendance Orals of
Class Nur-I will be conducted in their respective periods.

Class VI – X: The assessment for class VI – X will be done on the basis of the marks scored in Unit Test tests/
Periodic tests, half yearly examination and annuals examination.

PROMOTION POLICY
• NURSERY TO CLASS IV: No student will be detained. However the parents will be guided, if
necessary, to give their consent so that their ward may repeat the class to have better academic base.

ATTENDANCE RULE
• The students must have minimum 75% attendance, failing which he/she may not be allowed to sit in the
final examination and promotion may not be granted.
 PERFORMING ARTS
Note: Class III – X – Examination for Performing Arts will be taken according to dates fixed by Prachin
Kala Kendra in the month of August to October. Exam will be theory as well as practical.
Dates will be intimated later on. There will not be any exam in UT/Unit Test Test.

SPECIAL NOTE
Late Arrival of Boarders from home before examination to be informed to the authorities including
the Pro Vice Chairperson and Director and the issue has to be dealt with critically. No boarder will
be allowed to appear for the examination without proper application and medical certificate which
needs to be signed by the authorities and added in the dossier of the student.

Result of Classes VI to X would be calculated by taking the best out of all the three weekly cycles
and adding it to half-yearly to contribute 10 marks with internal assessment contributing 10 marks.

No Retests would be taken as the best out of 3 weekly cycles would be taken.
Any changes in result calculation for specific cases (like new admissions) would be informed
as and when required.
