ROAD MAP OF CIVIL ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT FOR NEXT FIVE YEARS 2015-2016 / 16-17/ 17-18

Development of Laboratory Facilities as per following details

A. BMT Laboratory :

a) Procurement of fatigue testing machine.

b) Procurement of Digital CTM of capacity of 200 t with arrangements for strain controlled

measurements.

c) Hardness testing machines

d) Repair of mini loading frame ( 10 t capacity)

e) Calibration of UTM & CTM

f) Procurement of digital calipers De- mec gauges, electrical strain gauges.

2. Concrete Laboratory :

a) Procurement of equipment for shrinkage measurements

b) NDT equipment for location of rebar.

c) Humidifier for controlled environment.

d) Digital De-mec gauges ( 8" & 10").

e) Getting casting yard ready for usage.

f) To repair the curing tank and create more facilities for curing.

g) To procure concrete core cutter.

3. Ladies Waiting Room

+ Estate Office

Construction of a 3 floor building to accommodate the above requirement

4. Construction of II Floors over Civil Engineering block

To accommodate (i) 2 Drawing halls

(ii) 2 Staff Rooms

5. Construction of Toilet in GF + FF + SF

6.To modernize the furniture of seminar hall ( Civil Engineering Dept)

7. Training of Staff

a) Teaching (b) Non teaching

8. Arrangement for internship

9. Conducting National Seminar

* One week AICTE STP

* One week TEQIP STP

10. Conducting CEP for practicing Civil Engineers ( at a more rigorous level)

11. To tie up with industries for taking up sponsored research works.

12. To arrange for interaction with more and more of alumni's of the department.

13. To appeal to Alumni for sponsorship

14. To conduct ( evening) classes for certificate courses on Total station, Auto CAD, NDT, CMD etc.,

15. To apply for financial support from funding agencies like DST, KSCST etc.

16. To set up Earthquake Engineering laboratory in the department.

17. To conduct SWOT Analysis of Staff.
