The mental health and behavior of children or adolescents in interactions between individuals and

communities is influenced by character education taught by families and relationships in their

environment.

Darajat (in Bukhori, 2006) revealed that mental health is influenced by two factors, namely internal
factors, namely factors within the individual such as personality and physical conditions, while external
factors are factors from outside the individual self such as economic conditions, culture and
environmental conditions (family, community and education)

The social environment is the community and various norm systems that are around individuals or
groups of people that influence their behavior and interactions between them.

Parents have the responsibility to educate, nurture and guide their children to reach certain stages that
deliver children to be ready in social life.

The way parents educate children and the health of relationships in the environment is a deciding factor
in the formation of a child's mental health leading to positive or negative things.
