Proposal Title : Awareness and practice of cleanliness in college cafeteria among

students of UiTM Puncak Alam

Background of the problem

Every institution which provides food for a large group of consumers has the
responsibility to keep the safety and wholesomeness of food otherwise it may result
outbreaks of food borne illness. The most identified contributing factors of food borne
illness in mass catering establishments were cross contamination, dirty work
environment and poor personal hygiene practice by food handlers. This study will
reports findings of thorough study of how college students aware of cleanliness at the
cafeteria. This study also will discuss of practices among college students on how to
ensure cleanliness when using the facilities in the cafeteria.

It is said that cafeteria cleanliness and hygiene should be taken concern among
students in UiTM Puncak Alam because it is their main source of to obtain food for
resident students.
