Benefits
Benefits - Introduction
Team Spectra is committed to its sponsors. In this section we would like to offer to you an overview of the benefits
on a broader spectrum than outlined in the previous page. We look at the benefits for students and businesses
wishing to identify with this program, specifically Team Spectra and the staff team building day, offered as part of the
Platinum and Gold sponsorship packages.

Benefits - Students
The F1 in Schools challenge allows students the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge to practical situations,
while also enhancing their skills in engineering, science, marketing and project management through collaboration
with experienced professionals and relevant industries.
As part of the program, students are exposed to career options and are encouraged to extend themselves, to think
laterally and creatively, to develop their technical skills beyond the normal school experience, and to develop their
communication skills when dealing with members of industry, potential sponsors, officials and other competitors.
Students learn the importance of team work, time management, organisation and patience.

On a practical level, students learn CAD (Computer Aided Design) program skills to design their cars, verbal
presentation skills, graphic design skills, and manufacturing skills which include operating a CNC (Computer
Numerically Controlled) milling machine to turn their software design into a competition car. Participation in the F1 in
Schools competition is a desirable addition to the students’ curricula vitae when applying for university or employment
positions.
Benefits - Sponsors
If you choose to partner with Team Spectra for their bid to become the 2012 F1 in Schools World Champions then you
are identifiying your business as a supporter of leaders and innovators of tomorrow.
Innovation is a key factor in Australia’s future. Businesses, trying to be innovative with new ideas, stay in
front of their competitors. Team Spectra is a very strong believer in innovation and for us to win the World
Championship we will need to apply this core value to everything our team does. For you to support us in this future
endeavor you will single your business out as a key supporter of innovation and the furthering of innovators,
engineers, scientists and skilled professionals who will be at the heart of propelling Australia well into the 21st century.

The skills learnt through the F1 in Schools competition brings together and enhances teamwork, leadership,
communication, planning, organisation and innovative skills that are part of the standard school curriculum as well as
at the very core of the business world today.

If you choose to sponsor Team Spectra, not only will you identify your business as a key supporter of the leaders
and innovators of tomorrow, you will also be showing that your business supports the study of subjects in both the
classroom and the ability to apply them to a real world application that not only has relevance in F1 in Schools but
in the wider business world.

Media
Media Exposure
Team Spectra acknowledges that media and exposure to the consumer market is an important part of considering
any sponsorship proposition. Team Spectra will be involved in numerous media events and local events before we
head off to the World Championships in Abu Dhabi. These will range from fundraising events such as dinners to
presentations around schools and to industry. It is possible that Team Spectra will make appearances in the local
newspaper and on local TV news. At all of our fundraising and media events we will be displaying our sponsors’ logos.

Sponsors will be given the opportunity to at each of the events to give us promotional material such as brochures for us
to display and hand out. Depending on the media capabilities of the event we may be able, for Platinum level
sponsors to play a television advertisment.

Audience
As with any product range you market it to a specific age range or demographic. The competition is only open
to the age range of 9 to 19. Due to the fact we are now competing at the international level, in addition to
competing teams, you also get exposure to a much broader demographic. The World Finals will be held to tie in
with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, in addition to the competition itself, we will be wearing our uniforms into and
around the Grand Prix, potentially presenting your brand to the millions of viewers of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and
its organisers. More than 1000 news articles were written and aired after the last World Finals, with its broadcasters
and publishers reaching over 220 million viewers on Television and online.

Media Types
In this section, Team Spectra will outline the various types of media
which they will be employing to advertise the team and Sponsors.

Television:
One part of the media coverage of the event will be Television. As
we will be competing just before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix there is
the possibility of international media covering both the F1 in
Schools World Final and the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Newspaper:
The second type of media that Team Spectra could be exposed
to is the Newspapers. Seen here in the example of Raindrop Racing
after winning the 2011/12 State Championships; there are other
examples on the enclosed disc. The project on a state and
national level grabs a significant amount of attention, on the
international level the possibilities are even greater.

Internet (Twitter/Facebook):
As well as the more conventional forms of marketing Team Spectra
also uses Twitter and Facebook to inform and communicate with
its supporters and its sponsors. Team Spectra also has a website
which we use to showcase our project and those who support us.

Radio:
The Radio is a fantastic way of communicating with large numbers of
people without visuals. Team Spectra will likely be making a number of
Radio appearances before heading off to the World Finals.
Budget
