We may not always notice but our lives are being governed by Globalization, the

world is drastically changing in time and so do our way of living. Why? Because
we now live in a modern age, an age where science and technology is a driving
force, markets, and the consumption of natural resources are way too excessive.

It was only when I moved here in Manila a month ago that the manifestation of
Globalization in my life really strucked me. Living far away from my parents really
taught me how to handle money and be responsible for my own actions even though I
believe I'm still in the process of adjusting. One thing I hate here in Manila is
the heavy traffic, which I have experienced even before I moved here. There was one
time when we were on our way home from the Roll Signing for Lawyers in the Supreme
Court last June, the car was 2 hrs. in Quezon avenue, alone, and it was caused by
the rush hours which, according to culturetrip.com, fall around 7AM - 9AM and then
5PM - 9PM. The flow of traffic is smoother on weekends since people rest at home
during this time. One recurring event that can be found in my journal is when I go
home to Batasan Hills, QC on weekends. I have saturday classes so usually I travel
at Sundays. It's as if very new to see the Manila roads to be not flooded by
vehicles and your travel time decreases on great lengths. This is because Sunday is
a rest day. Lucky for me, I can choose whether to go home Saturday noon or Sunday
morning, it's not a problem because neither do I have Monday classes. But f Imagine
the number of people who travel on weekdays to go to work and study here in Manila
and compare it to when they stay at home during weekends. From that alone, we can
see how Globalization affects our lives not only individually, but as a community.
