Classroom Community Plan

Classroom Expectations
1. Students should be respectful to their fellow classmates from the beginning of the class, the
end of class, and outside of the classroom. They should respectful of their opinions and not judge
others in the class. Commented [CM1]: Every opinion in valid in my
class. Their funds of knowledge will be critical in
2. During class, cellphones should be put away unless instructed to use them for classroom making class

activities. Students who use cell phones will have their phone taken away till the end of the class
period. Commented [CM2]: Students can use cell phones
to do research on the projects and assignments in
3. The class is an all-inclusive safe space. Language that belittles groups of people and class. They are mini computers. If I see them doing
anything other than use them for research, then
individuals will not be tolerated. Detentions and/or Saturday schools will be given. they will be ask to put them away.

Commented [CM5]: Every student should feel
welcomed and ready to learn with their peers.
Grading
100-90%=A 89-80%=B 79-70%=C 69-60%=D 59-0%=F

All classwork, homework, projects, and reports must be turned in on the deadline. If they’re late,
you will receive half credit. Some points are better than no points. You have the opportunity to
turn in late work before the end of every unit. If you are absent, you will need to verify your
absence to receive full credit. Late work that accompanies an unexcused absence will receive
half credit. Commented [CM6]: This is fair because students will
still be able to get some points of the assignment
to avoid getting a zero but they must turn that

gradebook will be closed on the last unit.
Beginning of Class/Attendance/Tardies Therefore they won’t be able to receive points.

Students are expected to arrive to class on time and in their assigned seats. Three unexcused
tardies will equal a detention and a call home to parent or guardian. Five unexcused tardies will
equal a Saturday school. Students are to also work on the daily warm-ups I assign at the Commented [CM7]: This is fair because students
need to be on time for every class. They must

must find a way to make it before the bell rings.
Restroom Policy
Students are not allowed to go to the restroom until after I take attendance. During lecture,
students will not be allowed to use the restroom as they will miss vital information during that
time. During classwork towards the end of the period, students will be allowed to use the
restroom. Phones must be put on my desk. Commented [CM8]: Only in an emergency will they
be able to go to the restroom at any point in class.
During Class
Students will do lecture with a guided motes packet I give them for every unit. The desks will be
set into groups of four and throughout the lecture, there will be breaks where students will
discuss questions I pose to them about the lecture. It’s like a think pair share but with four
people. They will collaborate on a close reading assignment and projects. They must raise their
hands to sharpen their pencil. If they need to borrow pens and pencils they must give me
collateral (phone, hat, etc). Commented [CM9]: Lecture and group work are
key in my class and students must raise their hands
if they request anything in my class.
Noise
Students are expected to be quiet at all times during my lectures unless instructed to work with
their partner or group during that time. Disruption will result in a detention, call home, and/or
Saturday school if committed multiple times. Students must raise hands to ask or answer a
question. Commented [CM10]: It’s important to set your
expectations and impose them often as soon as
possible. That way your students know what you
End of class/Tutoring expect out of them.

During the end of class, students will be able to get help on projects and assignments. I will also
be in my class before and after school if students wish to receive additional help and support.
Dear Parent or Guardian, Commented [CM11]: Students will receive this letter
on the first day of school and they must give it to
their parent or guardian. I can also email it to
them if need be.
My name is Cameron Milledge and I will be your student’s world history teacher for the
year. I’m currently a student in the teaching credential program at California State University,
Fullerton. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in history 2017. I also did a year of substitute
teaching and coached the freshmen baseball team at my alma mater Fullerton Union High School
in 2018. I will make my classroom a fun and interesting environment where my students will feel
welcomed and respected by their peers.
In my class we will cover world history from The Renaissance to the modern world.
Students will be given a textbook at the beginning of the school year but I will not be reference it
that much during the year. Students will investigate time periods using primary sources to get Commented [CM12]: Primary sources are the keys
