Workbook and Blueprint for effortless book writing
Welcome to the “Workbook and blueprint for effortless book writing”. I am happy you are
here, and honored that you let me help you in such an exciting adventure. Because writing
your own book is indeed an adventure.

This blueprint and workbook will be short and to the point. I wish I could give you all the
information that I have and can provide, but this is not practical, and probably not what you
are looking for. I understand that you need short information and quick results. Still though,
if you need more help that what is provided on this workbook, you may take advantage of
the free 30’ consultation that I provide to my emailing Subscribers. You can book a meeting
here:

How this workbook and blueprint work:

For each section there is a very small introductory paragraph, so that you know what you
will be doing, and why. Then, there is a questionnaire that helps you brainstorm in all areas
that affect your book writing process. Once you have replied in writing on all the questions,
you will follow the blueprint, and you will be ready to sit down and write your book. The
great thing about filling in this questionnaire is that when you are done, you will be crystal
clear on what your book is about, whom it is for, how your structure will look, what your
style will be, and how you will promote it. Knowing all this BEFORE you even sit down to
write your first chapter is gold. Because when you are crystal clear on those and many more
matters discussed later on, all you will need is a couple of weeks before the book is written
and finished. Really, nothing speeds the time more than clarity, and nothing boosts your
energy than a detailed blueprint.

So, are you ready? Let’s dive in to your workbook and blueprint, and let me help you
become a published, Bestselling Author!

Reply the following questions to your journal, or better: on a word processor computer
program. Some of your phrases will be directly copied and pasted as you move forward
writing your book, so it would be better if it is all written digitally from the beginning.

1. What do you do for living?

2. What is it that you have studied and known very well?

3. In which areas are you well experienced?

4. What is your favorite subject of research? (what do you mostly buy as books, what
articles do you read, what subjects do you mostly enjoy discussing about)

5. What are your actual reasons for writing a book? What do you want to happen after
you have written your book? How do you want to benefit from this? How your life
will look and feel? Your business? Your confidence?

6. Who are the people you want to attract? What do they do? What do they need?
What is their problem? What is their biggest pain?

7. What is your solution to their problem? How can you help them? How will they feel
after you have provided them with your wisdom? How will their life change?

8. What is your personal experience on this or those particular issues? How have you
come to know the solution on those problems?

9. How would the world be if this particular problem was resolved once and for all?

Many people – especially when they are into self development, self motivation and positivity
area, rebel the idea of “write what your audience wants to read”. Please, if you are one of
them, give it a second thought. If you have plenty of ideas and you want to start writing a
book you will be overwhelmed. Actually the no 1 reason for people not writing their books is
overwhelm. How to start, what to say first, second? Self development books are not PHD
Thesis, and even if they were, they would focus on one subject. Not the entire science in the
world. You need to understand that people buy books that solve problems. You HAVE to
choose one problem, or, one group of problems to solve in your first book, and then write a
second book with the next problem, a third, and so on.

So, if you have a lot to say, and you don’t know where to start from, start from what your
people need to read first. It is not a brainer. I don’t tell you to make a survey find out what
sells best and just write about it even if you have no clue on this subject or you care not
about it. I tell you to write what you want, what you have in your heart, what is shouting to
come out to our world. Really, I am on your side. BUT! Don’t mess up with ALL the things
that you could write. Find out from what you already have, what is most needed? Answer
that, and you have the answer to your question: “Where do I start from”.
4 | by Vassia Sarri: Book Coach & Visual Communications Expert | www.succeedyourgoals.com
Now, you have your first chapter done. Combine all the things you wrote the one after the
other, edit them in such a way that they sound well with each other and you have your
introduction! Well done!

Ready to start writing the rest of your book? (oh, don’t bother about the title, we will look at
it at the end of the blueprint)

Call to action:

Just after the end of the introduction you need to call your readers to keep reading. I know it
might sound silly, but people need that kind of motivation. Trust me on that. So, write down:
What do you want your readers to do now? How do you want them to feel? Why should
they keep on reading? What lies ahead for them?

Chapter 1: The issue of the problem in details.

1. Name the problem again. What is it exactly?

2. How it appears to people’s lives?

3. Describe a couple of real stories about people who were having this particular
problem. Don’t describe the end of their story, don’t give a happy ending, don’t tell
how it got resolved. Keep this for other chapter.

4. Express the problem again, make it feel unbearable. Even if readers have not
decided to get rid of it yet, now make them feel that if they don’t they will not be
able to keep on living. You need to convince them to change in order to help them
change. If they don’t want to move forward, all your efforts in this book will be
useless. If you don’t convince them now, and let them approach your book as
“distant literature” you are doing them a disservice. If you don’t get BOLD your book
will never transform their lives.

5. Why this problem exists? What are the (give particular number) of reasons?
Describe each reason in an entire paragraph, or, if appropriate in an entire
subchapter.

6. What resources do you have on this subject? How do you know? Can you call some
other experts who have worked on this particular subject? What is their opinion on
it?

7. Maybe you have some statistics that you want to add here.

Chapter 2

We made your readers feel terribly devastated in the previous chapter. We want now to give
them hope. We want to bring enthusiasm and a reason for them to keep on reading and of
course; start implementing your ideas and suggestions.

1. The solution. What is the solution in a nutshell? Don’t give everything here. This
chapter needs to be a teaser. Don’t give details, but bring up all the parts of the
solution (almost like bulletins) so that the reader has the entire plan in their head
and they are eager to keep on reading.

2. One success story. Don’t give all the details of the solution of the problem. Show
how now the person’s life has totally changed for the better.

3. For a nonfiction, self development book, it is good to give some suggested actions in
the end of each chapter.

Chapter 3

Solution 1 – or – part 1 of the solution: Analyze it in as much detail as possible. Write many
subchapters and analyze them in multiple paragraphs. Don’t assume you talk too much or
that you express the obvious or that you make your readers tired. People don’t know what
you already know. People who buy your book don’t know what you already know. The
obvious is obvious only to YOU. Not to the ones who are desperate for a solution.

Chapter 4 and on

Give all your solutions or parts of the solution. Analyze as much as you did on the chapter 3.
If you have read Joe Vitale’s “the key” you will understand that you can analyze and keep on
analyzing, and giving details, and examples, and more success stories, and then analyze a
little more, without turning your readers sleepy. You should never write the same things
more than once – or two (just to make sure your readers got the message) but you can
always find something more to add as information.

Understand that people who buy books love reading books. Obviously they are looking for a
solution to their problem, but if they wanted instant solution and fast provided information
they would watch YouTube videos and read articles. Not books. Books take time to read and
finish. Reading books is a delight.

You may just write your outline on a word document (which is for now recommended) or on
Google Documents, or on paper. The problem with paper is that you can’t just copy paste,
and you can’t drag and drop, but if looking everything in front of you is more convenient for
your needs, then write everything on the paper.

One more way to create a cool outline is to write the top ideas on cards, and underneath to
write in bulletins the things you will discuss about each chapter or subchapter. Through this
“cards” way of creating your book outline, it is much easier to change order and brainstorm
even better.

So, here are the recommended templates. Mind you, you may combine the templates, or of
course, add extra information if you feel it is needed. The templates are generic, as they are
created to serve everyone who writes a non-fiction book.

Book Template 1: Offer a solution to a problem

(We mostly talked about this template, but take one extra look)

First Page: In just one page explain briefly what the common issue is, how you have helped
other people to solve it, what the readers will experience after reading the book and
implementing the teachings.

Introduction: How this book is written, how people can follow through (let them know if
there are exercises, downloadable material, if they should keep a journal, if the book can be
read from the beginning to the end, or if it can also be randomly read, depending on the
reader’s needs etc.)

Who this book is for: The beginner, the progressed one? Is it an easy to follow book? What
solutions will it provide?

Call to action: Excite them with a great call to action, something like “So, are you ready to
change your life once and for all on this specific subject? Then follow me along! Keep on
reading”

First Chapter: Describe the problem in details. Give reasons, why it happens, how it
happened, who suffer from it. You may add some research here and percentage numbers to
make your point more accurate and show you are a professional and you have done your
homework.

7 | by Vassia Sarri: Book Coach & Visual Communications Expert | www.succeedyourgoals.com

Second Chapter: What the solution is? Give briefly all your process, the roadmap on what
your readers should expect from now on to the following chapters. Do not give all the
solutions, but better excite them with great expectations (they need to be true though, so
they won’t be disappointed)

Third Chapter: (This could be added in earlier chapter if it seems appropriate) Your
personal story. Your story of success. How did you come to be an expert on this subject? If
your story is not THAT exciting, you may give success stories of other people.

Forth chapter and on forward: Give your solutions. Break them one chapter per solution,
or per solution step. You need to describe with details each step and you need to give
examples as well, exercises and great support.

Conclusion: Sum up all the things discussed in the book within a couple of paragraphs. If
you can give numbered steps, then do so. People love bulletins and lists.

Give them a message of hope. Motivate them. Tell them they can do it.

Keep connected: Now, here you explain how greatly you want to support them even
further, you tell them how to contact you, and if you have, you suggest them to check your
programs, other books and support groups.

Book Template 2 – the “How-to Process”.

Your readers’ motivation here is not to get rid of a problem, but to progress, towards the
direction they choose. This can be for spiritual subjects, as well as everyday personal
accomplishments or business skills.

Introduction: Remember that people are not desperate here; they don’t NEED to solve a
problem, so you have to give extra effort to motivate them. Name some problems that occur
if they do not learn the recommended skills. So, in the first page, show, that even if their life
is just fine, or their business, or their relationship, or their spiritual divine connection, how
can it be even better? What are the secret issues that they can resonate even if they didn’t
know that existed till now?

In details, describe how better their life will be because of the skills they are going to learn
through this book. Describe the everyday life of a person who doesn’t have the skills yet, and
how this person progresses.

Give your own story, or the story of other people you know to be true.

Chapter 1: Explain what can be in the way, before you start teaching them the process of
learning. Prepare them for success.
8 | by Vassia Sarri: Book Coach & Visual Communications Expert | www.succeedyourgoals.com
Chapter 2: Give brief description of your process. What will they learn, how, and why on
this specific order.

Chapter 3 and on forward: Dedicate one entire chapter for each step of the process. It is
essential that people understand everything. You won’t be boring. Remember that the
things you know for obvious, other people might have never even heard about before.

Conclusion: Same as the previous template. Sum up all the things discussed in the book
within a couple of paragraphs. If you can give numbered steps, then do so. People love
bulletins and lists.

Give them a message of hope. Motivate them. Tell them they can do it.

Keep connected: Now, here you explain how greatly you want to support them even
further, you tell them how to contact you, and if you have, you suggest them to check your
programs, other books and support groups.

Book Template 3: When your teaching is guaranteed to change

many aspects of your readers’ lives

Introduction: Same as previous books, choose the one that fits more to your needs and
style.

Chapter 1: Explain how the solution or teaching you are going to provide will shift for the
better all parts of their lives, and why. Explain on what parts of lives you will discuss about
on future chapters.

Chapter 2: Briefly explain the steps you are going to follow. What they are going to learn for
all the parts of their lives. – If you need, you can explain the philosophy behind the process.
Where is it inspired from? Who invented it, how people use it around the world?

Chapter 3 and on forward: Here you will have one chapter for each part of a person’s life,
and probably subchapters with the steps and processes. If you reverse this idea, you will
have one chapter per step or process, and subchapters on how those steps apply to each
part of a person’s life.

Conclusion: As previous Templates.

Book Template 4: Very Abstract ideas

This is for very spiritual – intuitive subjects, or ideas that combine spirituality with science,
etc.

Introduction: leave this for the very end. Your introduction here will be based on all the rest
things you will have written, such as, how you came up with such subject, what people think
about it, what is your new approach, why you felt the need to write this book, how people’s
lives will develop by reading it. What is your aim, what is your mission?

First Chapter: This one as well, write it after you have written your introduction. In the end.
Give brief details on what is going to follow, what steps, or points of thoughts are.

Second Step and forward: Write, as if you write separated articles. Let yourself be inspired
and thoughtful. Tell your truth. In the end, after you have created more than 10 article style
chapters, you can see which the ideal order is.

Conclusion: as in previous templates.

Book Template 5: The research style book

In this book you may have a collection of articles, research, interviews and ideas not only
written by you, but by other specialists as well. In this style of book you will invest a lot of
time on research and on getting specialists’ interviews. The process will be more as if you
are organizing a telesummit. When you have all the ideas, transcribed interviews and
articles, you may follow one of the above outlines.

Your book should follow a specific structure that will have all the ingredients to look
professionally written. Here is what you need to have in your book:

1st page is the cover of your book. Don’t forget to add it to your word document.

2nd page: A teaser for Amazon clients who just look at your book and wander whether they
buy it or not. Add there a couple of paragraphs to triggered their excitement, and also give
the link to your opt-in page. Amazon clients who serf around the website most times click on
the book to read a little more. How will you grub their attention and convince them that
they need to buy your book?

You may also add some “Praises” from people who have already read your book: a couple of
sentences that say how great your book is.

3rd page: The title of the book, the subtitle and the name of the author – once again.

4th page: Copyright and Disclaimer. Library of Congress Control Number and ISBN are not
essential, but if you have those numbers, you add them on this page.

th
5 page: Are you dedicating your book to someone you love or admire? Write it here.

6th page: Table of Contents

7th page: Call to action: Invite your readers to download a gift from an opt-in online form.
You want to collect as many emails as possible.

8th page: Foreword, Preface or Introduction

9th page: The main body of your book. It is good if each chapter starts on a new page

Just before the end: When finishing your book add your contacts. It is essential to let your
readers know where to find you. Remind them also that you have a free gift to give them
and tell them where to download it from (with an opt-in form). Ideally, you also have a
Facebook group only for the people who have purchased your book.

End of the book: If you have written more books, promote them here in the end. You want
your readers to buy all your books. Don’t act modestly. As long as your readers have finished
the entire book, it is definite that they want to read more of your work.
