NG. White Estate, Inc ory. ELLEN G. WHITE A oh PUBLICATIONS te May 25, 1994 Dear Brother [am enclosing three documents that [ think will answer your questions about the Will Ross statement, T have never before seen the statement by David James Lee, which is attached to the rest of the material. It also is totally in error. First of all, no “aged male nurse” took care of W. C. White in the late 1930s. Elder White was in good health right up to the time of his death in 1936. He did not require being “taken care of.” On his last day on earth he had worked at the office during the day, came home for supper, intending to retum to the office later. He died of a heart attack that evening-—with the keys to the office still in his pocket. In fact, I gather from our files that Willie White had been dead for several years before this statement made its first appearance. It is claimed that the statement was made in 1908, but that Will Ross did not write it out until 36 years later. That would be 1944. (I am not able to determine how the 36 years was established.) The earliest letter of inquiry in our Question and Answer File is dated 1951. Since Willie White died in 1936 and the first appearance of this statement was in 1944, he could hardly have clipped it into ‘one of his books. ‘Now, it may be true that Mrs. Ella Robinson lived in the Lee home at Wildwood for a time, but it is certain that the White family did not support this statement by Will Ross. The D. E. Robinson mentioned in the Ross statement is the same D. E. Robinson who wrote the enclosed letter disavowing any knowledge of ever hearing Ellen White make such a statement. He was also the husband of Mrs. White's granddaughter, Ella May. Since D. E. Robinson repudiates any knowledge of the purposed conversation, it is doubtful that his wife Ella would have supported it even if she had known about it. -2- May 25, 1994 Thank you so much, Brother Naughton, for writing to us about this matter. We are always pleased when people take the trouble to inquire about these unsupported stories. May the Lord richly bless you as you labor for Him. Sincerely, othe ma J. Collins Assistant Director Lot 21, Belli Creck Road, Cooroy, Queensland Australia. 4563 3rd April 1994 The Chairman, ‘The E.G.White Estate, Seventh-day Adventist General Conference, ‘Washington, United States of America Dear Sir, Thave attached here to a photo copy of a statement reported to have been made by Sister E.G. White in 1908. Could you please advise whether it is fact ot fiction? If itis fiction, any documents that would support this point of view would be appreciated. If is fact, any material that would support that point of view would be appreciated. If one needs to take a neutral attitude on it, well please say so. With out supporting documentation there are many different points of view that could be taken ‘and this statement used to support them, But it is not sufficiently clear as to its context and cra that itis aimed al, if it is fact, 10 use it to support any point of view that one would want to uphold would not be wise. Any help you can offer would be appreciated, ‘Yours in Christ's Service
