To the Port Lux Police Department:

I resign, as I cannot in good conscience be a party to the release of a known

serial murderer onto Lux's streets or to the wanton and unnecessary use of police
brutality by PLPD officers. I don't regret working with you lot, but unfortunately,
I feel that I have to do this for my own conscience. You'll find my badge and
handcuffs with this letter. My forensics laboratory will be shut down and packed up
tonight, and my equipment will be taken off PLPD property.
