As per IEC 60079-14, feeders for heaters in Hazardous areas shall be provided
with RCDs with a sensitivity not exceeding 100 mA.
2. The IP rating of the Exe terminal enclosure could be IP66 or IP54, based on the
type of sealing used. It was found that silicon sealing was used, and hence the IP
rating would be 54 as per certification. IP54 is a violation to 16-SAMSS-518, which
calls for IP66.
IP 66 - in compliance with IEC 60529 for PUR sealing
IP 54 - in compliance with IEC 60529 for silicon and polymer CR sealing

b Aramco standards stipulate that when two sets (main and backup) of protection
relays are to be used, they shall be from different manufacturers; different models
from same manufacturer do not meet this requirement.
Care to be taken in future projects during offer evaluation stage itself, to ensure
that vendors comply with this requirement.
