Beat the Trail


Task:
Construct a vehicle with specified size and weight that can complete
the specified track full of hurdles varying in forms and sizes, including
hurdles in motion, elevation and fall, to reach the finish line in
minimum time along with maximum number of points.
General Rules:
 A team may consist of a maximum of 4 participants.
 Students from different educational institutes are allowed to
form a team.
 Each team must possess a specific team name.
 All the participating teams must be ready with their bots as the
event begins, any team failing to do so will be immediately
disqualified from the event.
 The bot should be ready and will be checked by the organisers
1 hour prior the event for all its compliance with the rules.
 The participants are not allowed to tamper or manipulate any
obstacle by using their hands, in case of any such incident the
team stands disqualified.
 The organizers reserve all the rights to change any rules as they
seem necessary. Changes in rules (if any) will be highlighted to
the teams on the website.
 The decision taken by the judges shall be considered final and
bound to all.
Points Rules:
 All the teams will be credited with 200 points at the beginning
of the event.
 Touching of any event by the bot will lead to loss of 3 points to
the team.
 If the team wishes to skip any hurdle, they may do so at
expense of 35 points.
 In the run, if the bot moves out of the described path the team
shall begin again from the last hurdle checkpoint and will be
penalised by 20 points.
 Any touch to the bot by the team members will lead to loss of 8
points.
 Any team that losses all its point in the runs stands disqualified.
 The result will be decided on the basis of time taken and total
points the team has.

Bot specifications:
 The maximum size of the bot must not exceed the dimensions
of 30cm x 25cm x 25cm (LxBxH)
 The bot may be wired or wireless, in case of the bot being
wired the length of wire must be long enough not to cause any
strain in wire during the run, if any such case be found of
pulling the wire the team must begin the run all over again.
 The maximum potential difference between any two points
must not exceed 12V(volts).
 The bots must have an onboard power source.
