Configuration Screen
‘The Configuration Screen allows changes to the parameters listed. The
screen duplicates some of the functions of the ECM Summary. However,
this screen allows changes and provides a record of changes to
parameters. This sereen is accessed from the configuration icon (shown
on the left), the function key (in this case F5), or through the Service drop
down menu as follows:
Service / Configuration
‘The configuration screen also records the latest change value and the
‘number of times the parameter has been changed. This feature provides
‘an audit trail in the system if tampering by unauthorized persons is
evident.
‘The column on the right hand side of the screen "TT" stands for Tattletale
and refers to the total number of changes to the parameter.+ Changing a parameter
value
+ Customer passwords
+ Parameter Lockout
To access the Parameter Lockout feature use the drop down menu as
'o change a parameter value, highlight the desired line, press Enter, 21
follow the instructions on the sereen.
It should be noted that some parameters do not show a TT count. ‘These
parameters are "read only" and as such cannot be changed on sereen
Personality Module part numbers and the installation dates are
automatically recorded on installation.
In some applications, for example on highway trucks, customer
passwords are used to protect parameters against unauthorized tempering,
‘There is a further level of protection with the Parameter Lockout which is
a means of protection for certain parameters in some applications. This
feature is desoribed in in Lesson five, Factory Passwords.
