Even as a ‘fresh-out-of-college’ 21-year-old who had no prior industry

connections or experience working with governments, I realized the
opportunity to start something that matters.
I created ‘StartAP’ and brought together multiple stakeholders in

government, academia, and industry across the state. I built an
ecosystem of passionate ‘Andhrapreneurs’, bringing together fledgling
entrepreneurs and established companies on a common platform.
StartAP quickly became a breeding ground for entrepreneurship and
innovation in this newly found state. With the government’s assistance,
StartAP has nurtured 800+ new entrepreneurs and startups since 2014.
I realize I have a long march ahead in my quest to create greater impact,

but knowing the impact that I’ve had the fortune of creating, I’ll march
forward with confidence.
Diversity Question
I grew up witnessing unfair treatment against women; from dowries to
casual sexism to my mother being denied promotions despite stellar
performance reviews. These instances filled me with rage, but there's
little I could do beyond voicing my opinion. At best, I could create
workplace safety and sexual harassment policies at CrunchPrep and
ConvertFox.
As I spoke with more female friends, many of whom are active feminists,
I realized that these are not independent, random incidents, but they
reveal a more fundamental problem underlying the social reality in India.
This newfound knowledge inspired me to work for a female MP on a

proposed constitutional amendment to include reservations for women in
the Indian Parliament. After doing rigorous historical analyses, talking to
many incredible feminist thinkers and women’s rights activists and
learning from their experiences, the insights I gained have significantly
broadened my perspective.

I still fondly recall how I would spend summer days as a kid, teaching my
now late grandma the English alphabet and grammar. I'd be ecstatic
every time she could read prescriptions or write her own cheques. She
would tell people how her grandson would one day pursue his passion
for education. I have been raised in a middle-class family of working
professionals; my father couldn't become a lawyer because my
grandparents had to choose between his law school fees and paying my
aunt's dowry installments. My mother had to drop out of medical school
because her single mother worked the farms to feed a family of 7.
I've always wanted to help people learn better, and began my pursuit at
19, leading dozens of young undergrads from top colleges to start the
city's first-ever student-led non-profit to provide English language
training to 500+ underprivileged children. After college, I pushed my
horizons further and took the boldest step of my life. Armed with little
more than sheer passion, I decided to be the first-ever entrepreneur in
my family history and started an affordable ed-tech platform that has so
far directly impacted tens of thousands around the world.
Realizing I could help others find their own entrepreneurial paths, I

created an ecosystem for entrepreneurs and worked with the
government to nurture hundreds of new startups in five years. More
recently, I had an incredible time at a fast-paced SaaS startup
ConvertFox, where I created strategy for one of 2017's biggest SaaS
product launches, impacting thousands of small businesses.
Looking back on the failures, learnings, and successes that would last a
lifetime, as I look towards the future, I see a wistful dream desperately
waiting to be realized - to build a global ed-tech solution that impacts the
lives of hopefully millions more around the world.
Given my diverse experiences and entrepreneurial goals, I believe

Darden and the Batten Institute would open doors to entrepreneurial
ecosystems - whether in Charlottesville through the Founders Festival,
or in the Valley, through DSCI and Bay Area Connect programs. I’m
eager to make use of the i.Labs incubator which gives me access to

in community leadership work for 8-10 hours a week, leaving little time

score on the GRE quant section. However, I also understand that I have
enough time to develop some of the more advanced quantitative skills
before I arrive at Darden. Being able to get up to speed with business
