Identify the practices mentioned by Plasencia on the following aspects:

 Commoners - called aliping mamamahay who lives in their own houses and are lords of their
own property and gold.
 Slaves are those who are called aliping saguiguilid who serves their master in his house and on
his cultivated lands and may be sold.

A. Marriage between couples belonging to different social classes were not common.
B. The man requires to give dowry: (1) Bigay-kaya (a piece of land or gold); (2) Panghihimuyat (a gift for
the brides parents); (3) Bigay-suso (for brides wet nurse).

4. Religion
A. They worship many gods and goddesses such as Bathala, Idayanale, Sidarapa, Agni, Balangaw,
Mandarangan, Lalahon, Siginarugan.
B. They also believe in sacred animals and trees

5. Superstitions
A. They believe in Aswang, Dwende, Kapre, Tikbalang, Tiyanak.
B. Also believe in magical power of amulet and charms such as anting-anting, kulam and gayuma.

6. Burial or death
A. The deceased was buried beside his house; and, if he were a chief, he was placed beneath a little house
or porch which they constructed for this purpose. Before interring him, they mourned him for four days;
and afterward laid him on a boat which served as a coffin or bier, placing him beneath the porch, where
guard was kept over him by a slave.
B. Those who go to Maca (paradise or village of rest) are the just, and the valiant, and those who lived
without doing harm, or who possessed other moral virtues. And those who go to Casanaan (a place of
anguish) are those who lived that did bad things.
