This research was conducted to obtain an overview of the improved student learning outcomes
and to compare the difference in results between the learning of students who are taught using
direct instruction model and students who are taught using a model of discovery learning. The
method of researchis a quasi experimental design. Research conducted by administering two
different treatment of two groups of students. First, the experimental class I which taught by
direct instruction, and the experimental class II which taught by discovery learning. Data
collection is done with administering pretest and posttes to the students at the beginning and end
of the study, will thus increase in comparison with the visible results of two different learning
models. The results of this research indicate that there is a significant difference instudent
learning achievement seen from the average n-gain (increased) among students who aretaught
using direct instruction model i.e. 0.59 with students who are taught using a model of discovery
learning i.e. 0.71 by P_value = 0.002. From these results it can be concluded that student
learning acievement with a model of discovery learning differ significantly with direct
instruction model. Where the student learning acievement with a model discovery learning is
higher than with the direct instruction model.
Information :
The above research is research that has been carried out to examine the level of student learning
using 2 different learning methods. The tenses used are using the PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
(S + to be (was, were) + (V1 + Ing) + O). And the word used uses the 3rd form of the verb, and
the noun is converted to an adjective by adding the word (Ing) at the end of the word.
