“Social science means inventing a certain brand of human we can understand”- In the

contemporary world marred by various kinds of disruptions which are eventually impacting the
individual and the society. The effective solutions on such complex issues of our times like rise of
machines, robots and algorithms, increasing crime and social conflicts etc. lie in the discipline of
social sciences. Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai has been an institute of excellence in
the higher education that continually responds to changing social realities through various
innovative societal interventions. The institution’s vibrant literary society has been engaged
continuously in the novel work of the knowledge spreading on crucial social aspects through its
various innovative initiatives. One of them is the Quiz of Social Sciences which will be part of
the larger annual Literary Festival.
The quiz is going to include a set of diverse and crucial themes encompassing all the disciplines
of the TISS. This quiz based on such exhaustive themes would broaden the knowledge-horizon
of every student helping them to take crucial take-aways enabling them being a responsible global
citizen. There will be a team of three and the members can be of different schools but of same
