 PREFACE

Praise be to Allah SWT for giving us convenience so that we can

complete this task on time. Without his help, of course we will
not be able to finish this paper properly. Prayers and greetings
may best be poured out to our beloved king, the Prophet Muhammad
SAW, whom we will later observe in the hereafter.

The author thanks Allah SWT for the abundance of His healthy
favors, both in the form of physical and mindfulness, so that
the writer was able to complete the making of the assignment as
the final assignment of the Prose subject entitled "The
Vigilantes".

The author certainly realizes that this paper is far from

perfect and there are still many errors and shortcomings in it.
For this reason, the author expects criticism and suggestions
from readers for this short story, so that this paper can later
become a better paper. Thus, and if there are many mistakes in
this paper the author apologizes profusely.

The author also thanked all parties, especially to our

production lecturer, Mr. DWI BUDI SETIAWAN, S.S., M.A. who has
guided us in writing this assignment.

Thus, hopefully this Short Story can be useful. Thank you very

ANALYSIS

CHARACTER AND CHARACTERIZATION

Robert Queen :
he is good person and friendly man. he always help peoples around him and also he is a
killer, but meaning killer in this story is he always kill the creator criminals, he do that because
he love his family and people around him, killing is a bad way to finish the problems, event
though killing for the good of other people and the last story he was died.(Protagonist).

Father :
he is good person, care with his family and friendly to other people. In this story his
father died after he suicide. He finish his life because there are so many problem.(Protagonist).

Mother :
She is good person, care with her kids and also friendly. She cares to her family and she
is good mother. She always think about future her kids.(Protagonist).

Younger sister :
she is good person and care with her mom and her elder brother, even though she
sometimes skip college.(Protagonist).

Glen :
he is Robert friend’s, he is good person and he care to help Robert. In that story after glen
joined became Robert team’s he always help Robert in every situation.(Protagonist).

SETTING

- Time : When Robert and his father got accident in the ocean, at the time they
went to holiday with cruise ship, and finally Robert and his father arrived in the a island.
- Place : Uninhabited Island in china and Starling City, USA.
- Environment : In that story there are so many criminals and problem in starling city, so
that why Robert chance his life became The killer for help people and his family.
PLOT

 INTRODUCTION : In that story, the author introduce the main character and also
they family.
 RAISING ACTION : In this part, first conflict when Robert and his father went to
holiday with cruise ship. While on the way they got accident and their ship was sunk but
they was survived. In that story they use mini ship and they go to looking for land. While
on the way his father suicide it makes Robert broken heart. After that Robert stay on the
island for 5 years.
 CLIMAX : In Starling City there are so many criminals and problem. Robert
always clear the criminals. And the climax when Robert surrender to the police. He
arrived there, he entered to interrogation room, he told all the events, but the police still
blamed his action because he was murderer. Finally Robert was sentenced to death.
 FALLING ACTION : At the last story that main character was died, he was sentenced
to death, he surrender to the police.
 RESOLUTION : The Resolution is Robert surrender to the police. He arrived
there, he entered to interrogation room, he told all the events, but the police still blamed
his action because he was murderer. Finally Robert was sentenced to death.

POINT OF VIEW

He name was Robert, he is a Vigilantes in Starling city, before he became The Vigilantes he is
ordinary people. After he stay on a island for 5 years, that island chance his life. After Robert
back to starling city, he have a plan to kill the criminals in his city. In his action, Robert help by
his frien was name glen. After Robert clear criminals in his city, Robert surrender to the police.
He arrived there, he entered to interrogation room, he told all the events, but the police still
blamed his action because he was murderer. Finally Robert was sentenced to death.

MORAL VALUE

If you got problem, there is good if you finish the problem with good way, solving problem by
killing or hurts someone is not a good solution, solve a problem in a good way without hurting
the people around us.
