Srinagar:
Srinagar is the summer capital of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It lies at the banks of Jhelum River. The
city is built around its many tributaries. Undoubtedly, the best attraction of the whole state is here in
Dal Lake. It understates the very essence of the romanticism in this beautiful city.

Srinagar is also an important trading center. It is famous for its unique Arts and Crafts, Dry fruits & an

Srinagar’s most prominent places to visit include Dal lake, Nagin lake, Mughal Gardens (Chasma Shahi,
Pari Mahal, Nishat Bagh, Shalimar Bagh), Tulip Gardens, Shankaracharya Mandir, Jama Masjid and
Hazratbal.

Patnitop
Patnitop is a hill station on the way (National Highway 1A) from Jammu to Srinagar. The origin of the
name Patnitop is a distortion of the original name of “Patan Da Talab” meaning “Pond of the Princess”.
Its vicinities produces Kidney beans of the very highest quality and is also known for one very tasty
sweet called Patheesa.

Sanasar
Sanasar, named after lakes Sana and Sar, is at an altitude of 2,050 metres. It is the hub for adventure
sport activities in the Jammu region. The area is notable for its scenic views of mountain ranges. At
times, visitors to the valley stop at Patnitop and Sanasar for a day before embarking further.

Sonmarg
Sonmarg means “meadow of Gold”. With its rolling hills, green meadows on either side of the road, this
valley is framed by tall, snow-capped mountains. It was unbelievably picturesque! Ponies can be hired
for the trip up to Thajiwas glacier – a major attraction during the summer months.

From Sonamarg, trekking routes lead to the Himalayan lakes of Vishansar Lake, Krishansar Lake,
Gangabal Lake and Gadsar Lake, stocked with Snowtrout and Brown trout and Satsar, glacier-fed and
surrounded by banks of alpine flowers.

Yusmarg
Yusmarg in Kashmiri means The Meadow of Jesus. It is believed by the natives that Jesus came to
Kashmir and stayed at Yusmarg for some time.

It is fast developing into a tourist attraction. Doodganga a river flows through this meadow. In its vicinity
lies the alpine meadow of Tosa Maidan. A trek of 4 km leads to a small Lake named as Nilnag
surrounded by pine trees. Another 10 km trek leads to the most interesting lake the frozen lake in Sang-
e-Safed valley, most portion of this lake is covered by ice even during the summer. A number of tourist
huts, restaurants and hotels are available for lodging. The other activities include horse riding, fishing,
skiing during winter and photography.

Gulmarg:
Gulmarg is recognized as one of the top 10 Ski destinations of
the World. Host to many of Bollywood shootings of yesteryears,
this place is attracting numerous tourists once again.

Gondola is the most popular activity, which takes you to a higher mountain for fun and games. Other
activites include trekking, horse riding & hiking.

Pahalgam
Pahalgam is propably the most beautiful valley of this trip. Horse riding to some of its circuits will simply
take your breath away. They include Baisaran, Chandanwari, Betaab valley & Aru Valley. Due to its
scenic beauty, you had plenty of film shootings over the years in this valley.

While in Pahalgam, you can take to water sports in the Lidder River. Other activites include trekking,
hiking, fishing, golfing, horse riding, etc.

Pahalgam is also enroute to the famous Amarnath Yatra that takes place every year.
