TITLE OF WORK : Land Degradation

1. Description
I realised on the street downhill where i live the road has been left untarred
for a long while and as such erosion had began deforming the state of the
road. This had gone all the way to destroying lower parts of the land making
them infertile. When The rains come down also the get collected in one part
of the ground due to its poor state causing a water logged area to be
formed. Alongside this plant life is also being burnt just so waste can be
dumped and this is worsening the state of the land.
2. Feelings
When i saw the situation i wanted to draw the attention of the older people
in the neighbourhoods so we could join heads and fix the problem. The
waterlogged area downhill for example is also used as a waste disposal
means and this could harm both plants around that area and animal life
since the usually feed around that area

3. Evaluation
The Hill like structure of the road make erosion much easier to occur since
the land is exposed and this damages the land during every downpour.
Waste is also sometimes trapped in the gullies and when it rains it pushes it
all down to the waterlogged area worsening the sight of the place
4. Analysis
All this is occurring as a result of gully erosion due to the land's bad nature.
The best solution to go about this is to tar the roads and create a better
drainage system and also to put a stop to the burning of waste around plant
life because this destroys the land's state

5. Conclusion
I could also help out in filling up the gullies created due to erosion and help
in the payment for the tarring process

6. Action Plan
If a similar situation is ever to arise i would first educate the people in the
neighbourhood and draw their attention to how much the are putting
themselves at a disadvantage by condoning such habits.
