Annexure – 2:- Joining FAQ’s

1) Time of joining, Location, Working hours

What will be the time of reporting for joining?


A: The reporting time window for joining is 08:00 AM - 08:30 AM on the agreed date of joining. In
case of delay in reaching the venue, your joining date will be deferred to the next available date.

Where do I need to report for Joining?


A: Please refer the communication which you have received from your recruiting SPOC indicating
your date, time and location of joining. The joining takes place at the locations as mentioned below
and you are required to attend the joining at any of the designated place.

How can I send my acceptance of offer letter?
A: You may send your acceptance by replying on the same mail through which you have received
the offer of appointment.

How can I ask change of location of joining and Date of joining


A: There will be no change in location nor date of joining as they are decided as per business
need

What will be the working hours of Ericsson?


A: At Ericsson, our usual working hours are from 8:30AM till 5:30 PM from Monday to Friday.
However this may differ for few business who work on different time zones.

2) Training Related

What would be the training location and who will be handling this?
A: Training location would be at joining location and will be handled by L&CD Team

Can I undergo training at one location and join other location?


A: No, Your training will be at location as indicated on your offer letter and you have to work for
same location.

What will be the duration of training?


A: Initial training period is 6 months from the day of Joining; however it depends on the business
unit which you have joined.

Can I skip few training modules as I have learnt this during academics/external?
A: No, All training Modules are compulsory and if you have undergone these training earlier, this
will be a refresher.
3) Mandatory Documents required at the time of joining.

Do I need to carry anything apart from the list attached in Annexure 1-C of the offer of
appointment?
A: Please note that it is mandatory for you to carry all the documents mentioned in Annexure 1-C
of your offer of appointment (kindly refer to attachment in offer of appointment. In case of any
missing document, the company will have to defer your joining to the next available date.

What if I don’t have degree certificate during the time of joining Ericsson?
A: Please get the provisional / semester wise mark sheets till 7th / 8th semester dully signed by
your college authorities. You need to submit the degree certificate with in 3 months of joining.

Is PAN card mandatory for joining?


A: Yes, However if you don’t have PAN Card, please apply for the same and submit the
acknowledgement that you receive while applying for PAN Card

What kind of ID proof needed as part of documentation submission?


A: You can submit any Government recognized ID proofs which has your name and your photo

4) Background Verification process

What is Background verification process in Ericsson?


A: We have tied up with the First Advantage Pvt. Ltd, which is a Background Verification Company
to conduct verification for all Ericsson employees. On the subsequent day of release of your offer
of appointment, you will get a Login and Password from the First Advantage for CSPi Tool. You
will be required to upload all the documents which are further detailed in this document. Please
ensure to upload all the documents within 5 working days of receiving the Login ID and Password.
Failure to upload the documents within the time period will result in delay in your
joining the company. For any assistance in this matter you may get in touch with Deepak

Will we undergo Background verification?
A: Yes, All Ericsson employees undergo background verification

Education (Highest 02 Education)
 Copy of both sides of the Post Graduation and Graduation Degree/ Certificate if you have done PG 

 Copy of both sides of the Graduation Degree/ Certificate if you have done only graduation 

 Copies of the Marks Sheets/Grade Card for all years 

 Passport Photograph 

 Letter of Authorization (Available on the CSPi tool) 

 All documents provided should be clear and uncut 

What if any discrepancy found during the background verification process?


A: Action will be taken based on the discrepancies found from background verification.

5) Relocation & Guest House Procedure

I will be relocating from another city to join the Company. Does the Company has any guest
house facility at the city of my posting?

A: Ericsson will provide free guest house accommodation to the outstation candidate during the
internship for a period of maximum of fourteen (14) days from the date of starting your
internship tenure.
However, this facility is not available to a candidate whose home town is the place of joining location.

Can my family members, who are coming to drop me, can they also stay with me in the
Company guest house?

A: We provide the guest house facility only to the candidate, and not to your family members. The
family members who are accompanying you need to make their own arrangements of stay.

Will there be a transport from guest house to office?

A: Yes it will be provided, depending upon the distance between the guest house and office.

Will I be entitled for DA during my initial 2 weeks stay at guest house? How this can
be claimed?

A: No, you will be eligible only for stipend during your training period.

6) Joining Claim reimbursement process

What is the procedure for claiming amount spent on travel while


relocating?

A: You can claim re-imbursement of travel expenses for yourself only & you will be reimbursed 3
AC Sleeper train fare or Air fare (economy class). Taxi fare to and fro from home to the station or
airport and to Guest House will also be reimbursed.

What is the timeline for claiming reimbursement of amount spent on travel for joining,
Medical Expense, (explicitly mentioned in the offer of appointment)? And within how much
time can I claim these expenses?
A: The steps & time line for claiming these expenses are as
follows:-
1. *Joining Travel Expenses Within 3 months from the Date of joining
2. *Medical Bills Within 3 months from the Date of joining
3. *Joining DA Within 3 months from the Date of joining

* Note for Joining Travel expenses, Medical Bills & DA Claim Process:-
Joinng Travel: The travel date (self) is 10 days prior to joining; the same can be claimed online within 90 days from
joining; If the family travelled later, the same can be claimed within 90 days from joining for spouse & child only, not
for self.

Medical Bills: No approval is required for Medical Bills reimbursement and the same can be directly applied on Hewitt
site.
DA Claim Process: You need to provide the confirmation mail from Guest house of your stay there for the particular
period post your check out from guest house.

Additional Note: If your work location is Noida and you have to attend the induction at GP Office Gurgaon, you
can take a cab and get it reimbursed later on.

7) Medical Check-up and insurance

Is it mandatory to go Apollo Clinic for Medical Check up or can I go anywhere else? What if
I don’t carry the Medical report on the day of joining?
A: Apollo Clinic are the preferred partner for pre-joining medical check up for Ericsson. In case of
any difficulty in accessing a centre, you can undergo medical Checkup at any government
recognized hospital / lab. However, the reimbursement limit is 1500/-.
It is mandatory to carry the medical report on the day of joining else your joining may have to be
deferred to another available DOJ.

What if Religare asks you to undergo few more tests based on initial medical results? Will
the cost be reimbursed?
A: You need to undergo the additional test without which we will not allow candidates to join
Ericsson. The cost has to be borne by candidate

Is there any time line for medical test?


A: Yes, you need to undergo the medical test 7-10 days before the final date of Joining.

I wish to know the Insurance cover amounts, i.e. both Group Personal Accident and Life
Insurance?

A: You will be covered under the Group Personal Accident, Mediclaim (Hospitalization) & Life

Insurance Cover. For more details you can go to Annexure 1- B INSURANCES (kindly
refer to attachment in offer mail Annexure - Offer of Appointment EGI).

8) Bank Account for salary

Which is the Ericsson preferred Bank for salary transfers? By when should I join to
get the first salary in the same month?
A: The Salary accounts are with CITI BANK ONLY. If you are an existing CITI Bank account
holder, you may use the same after informing the on boarding/Payroll team. If you don’t have
an account with CITI Bank, the same will be opened for you by CITI Bank representative on
your day of joining.

Also note that the cutoff date for payroll processing is 15 day of every month, so if you join
before

15 then your salary will be credited in the same month however, if your date of joining is

on or after 15 then you will get your first salary in next month along with arrears for the
previous month.

9) Service Agreement Related

Is it compulsory to sign the service level agreement?


A: Yes

In case they quit Ericsson before 18 months, what is the amount they need to pay to
Ericsson? Will there be any legal action against them?
A: INR 1.5 lakhs, Yes, there will be legal action if there is a breach of agreement.

Who will be the surety, can it only be my parents or somebody else also?
A: It should be only father or mother.

In case parents are not in India, who can sign the surety bond on their behalf ?
A: Anyone who has blood relation.

Surety Bond Agreement has been sent to my residential address before joining. Do I
need to carry it?

A: You need to carry the signed Surety Bond Agreement along with you for on-boarding.
Failure to produce the signed document on the day of joining will result in failure of your
joining.

10) Transportation facilities

Will the company provide transport facility from workplace to residential place or do we
have to make our own arrangements?
A: The organization provides transport from your place of stay to the office and back for
which employee has to bear the cost which is decided by local management.

Others:
Can I get the info on the team that I will join or the job profile before joining Ericsson?

A: You will get to know once you successfully complete the training period

Will my designation & salary change post completion of probation/Training period?


A: Your designation will change as per business unit. However there will be no change in salary
offered.

When will I be eligible for salary revision?


A: This will be as per salary revision cycle and based on performance.
