1 SCOPE

This EURONORM applies to unalloyed' mild steel flat This EURONORM applies to sheet, coils (minimum
products in commercial quality, bending and profiling width 600 mm), slit coils and cut lengths from sheet or slit
quality, and drawing qualities produced by a continuous coil. It does not apply to general structural steel sheet and
hot-dip zinc coating process. The thickness of the pro- coil (see EURONORM 148 — in preparation). Qualities

for cold forming are given in EURONORM 142.

The requirements of EURONORM 20 apply to this term.

2 GENERAL DEFINITIONS

For the purposes of this EURONORM, the following A slit coil is a flat product wound in regularly superim-
definitions apply: posed laps, obtained by slitting a coil. The product may be
subdivided into two categories according to whether or
not its width is less than 600 mm.
A sheet is a rectangular flat product not less than 600 mm
in width obtained by cutting up a coil or a slit coil. A cut length is a rectangular flat product less than
600 mm in width, obtained by cutting up a slit coil or a
sheet.
A coil is a flat product not less than 600 mm in width,

3.1 Thickn ess

The thickne ss including coating may be me asure d at any

point locate d more than 40 mm from the e dge s.

In the case of slit coil and cut le ngths having a width of

80 mm or le ss, the position of me asure me nt shall be
agreed at the time of orde ring.

3.2 Len gth

The le ngth shall be measured along one of the longe r side s

of the she e t or cut le ngth.

3.3 Width Figure 1

The width shall be me asure d at rightangle s to the lon

gitudinal axis of the product.

2. For grade Fc Ρ 01 normal tolerances shall be increased by ± 0.01 mm unless otherwise agreed between the manufacturer and purchaser. Special tolerances do not apply to this
grade.
