Statement of purpose

Your statement of purpose is a short essay that should be customized for each
program to which you apply. You'll want to present yourself as someone who will be
a good fit for the program and will make a substantial contribution.
Personal statement

Most UC campuses require a personal statement, also called a history or diversity

statement, in addition to a statement of purpose. Make yours count.

Funding deadlines

If you are applying for a UC fellowship or other funding, pay close attention to
the deadlines.

Some programs have two deadlines: one for admissions and funding and another for
admission only, which is later. Applications submitted after the first deadline
will not be considered for university funding.
