Introduction
In this assignment, we had to find 12 website and discuss them based on their content,
functionality, authority and attractiveness. If there were any other criterias we think might be
worth to discuss, we could do so. We had to create a written report (which you can find
below) and a presentation where we discuss our findings.

Website 1:

On first sight, this website is quite accessible, you can immediately see
many attractive sales on the front pages. Additionally, the page isn’t
crowded, you have a clear visual of all the filters and a quick and easy
search bar to find what you’re looking for in seconds. The website looks
well-made and gives off a professional glance. Every category is
showcased in a clear manner. Overall, a very attractive and easy to use
website, which I and many other people will use more in the future.

https://www.studocu.com/
A very useful website for every student that doesn’t/couldn’t make notes.
You can find every solution for any exercise for every course. A real
lifesaver. Even though it’s such a great concept, the website itself isn’t
fully optimised. The lay-out is a bit clunky and all over the place, and it
can take a while to adapt and get used to it. Another issue can be that
anyone can upload files onto the website, without any supervision or
control. So, the answers can be wrong. Still, with a few tweaks and
updates, this website could become something extraordinary, a must-

A very clear and appealing website, which instantly focuses your
attention on the essentials. The new product and the price. The Oneplus
mobile phones are by now known as high-quality flagships for the mobile
phone industry. As such, their website looks very professional. All
essential information can be seen within seconds, and all shortcuts are
visible and easy to access, all while still being aesthetically pleasing. A
very attractive and functional website, I can think of no remarks.

Website 4:
https://www.zalando.be/heren-home/Another professional website with
clear filters/shortcuts and accessible options. The lay-out of the website
is attractive because of the symmetry and the multiple moving
advertisements on the home page, which give a professional look. The
website mostly appeals to the younger generations, since all the models
are also young. I believe Zalando will remain one of the biggest online
retail stores for a very long time. Their website is professional, attractive

In my opinion, this website is a bit too crowded, every inch of the
homepage is filled with advertisements, moving images or regular
pictures. However, the quality of these advertisements and pop-ups isn’t
bad. With the shortcuts on top of the page, it remains relatively
accessible, although this could be improved. The content is good, just
not the most functional. Overall still not a bad website. (Paraphrased

https://www.twitch.tv/
Twitch.tv is a huge streaming website which entertains millions of people
worldwide. Anyone can start streaming and play videogames or attend
events, to show the public. It has grown massively in the last couple
years. The website has also improved greatly, with new features like
theatre mode or the ability to make clips. The website and its channels
are very accessible, and the big streamers have basically become
celebrities. It has become a source of revenue for many people. You can
easily follow your favourite streamers and open their stream within

Amazon is a website that started off selling books online, but now it has
grown to one of the biggest e-commerce websites. The site itself is very
busy but it is easy to navigate on the site. It is also very responsive; the
site adapts well to screen sizes on different devices. The information and
content are relevant to the products and services they offer, and images
are coherent. Amazon does a great job implementing their strategy.

www.Alibaba.com
Alibaba is one of the world’s biggest web shops. the company provides
consumer-to-consumer (C2C), business-to-consumer (B2C), and
business-to-business (B2B) sales services via web portals, as well as
electronic payment services, shopping search engines and cloud
computing services (2019, wikipedia). When opening the site, I got a bit
overwhelmed with all the information and adds that were on a single
page. It is quite hard to navigate through the site. You always get
directed to a different page making it less consistent. The site is
responsive, and the information and content are relevant to what they

Apple does a great job on their site. They are applying their strategy in
an excellent way, achieving its company goals. The site is also very user
friendly what makes it very easy to navigate through. The content on the

https://www.trivago.be

Trivago.com is a search engine and price comparison site for

accommodation deals from many different online booking sites. The site
looks very simple, but clear. There are no advertisements or
unnecessary data. The site is very responsive and can be used on other
devices like smartphones and tablets. Graphics are only used to give

https://www.mercedes-benz.be/nl_BE/passengercars.html

The site of Mercedes looks very nice and coherent. You can navigate
very easily through the website and find the different models that they
sell. And for people who already own a Mercedes they can access
customer service in an instant. The responsiveness on the desktop
version was good but on mobile devices its automated slide show on the
homepage was a bit clunky. Graphics used on the website are all high

https://www.spanishdict.com

Spanishdict.com is one of the most accurate Spanish translators. It is

frequently used by students or people learning Spanish. The site is very
easy to use and there are many other functions besides translating like
find the right conjugations and pronunciations. This gives the website
more value. The site is very easy to navigate through and is very user
friendly. There are not a lot of graphics on the site, but this isn’t
important since visuals are not the essence. The website is achieving

CONCLUSION
Overall, these websites were well-made, which was only expected since we picked many
famous websites of big, influential companies. We did however pick some smaller websites
too, like studocu.com and spanishdict.com, which topped expectations. For being quite small
and unknown, these websites really did what was expected of them. Straight forward design,
and user friendliness is all you need from those kinds of educational websites. However, a
commonly returning problem with the other websites was that they were overwhelming, had
too many moving pictures and pop-ups with not enough space. This is one of the only
criticisms we could find.

Reflection
From this task we learned how to grade websites. Something we had never thought about
before. So from now on, when we click on a website we will form an opinion on it, and be
able to express it. What we learned from this assignment is critical thinking, an extremely
important skill in our world. Never take anything for granted and form your own opinion
whenever you can.
