Dear Mrs. Martinez,

I’m writing to you in response to the announcement to cover the summer teaching position of the
Comprehensive Communication and Social Sciences course. I’m interested in working and I would
like to know more about the position. I’m from Piura, Peru and I’m currently studying in the last year
of the Communication Sciences career and I’m qualified to be a teacher since I have certification for
having taken a teaching pedagogy course. Before that, I worked as an assistant teacher in a pre-
university academy with the Integral Communication course. During that time, I was able to learn
to work with children and adolescents. I think I have the right qualities to fill the position because
I’m kind, empathetic, friendly but also very rigorous with my work. In addition to my good
performance in the communication course, I’m passionate about the social sciences. I speak English
at intermediate level. I would like to do something useful after graduating and above all to know
your country. I have some questions about the work. Firstly, what grade would you assign me and
what would be the number of students? Also, how long does the summer course last? Regarding
the procedure for temporary work permit I have it resolved. I have immediate availability and if
possible, I can travel to Loja today.
