Write That Book!
Writing a blog and trying to write a book is hard. You have to switch on and off
different mindsets, characters, and tone. But you can do it! Here are some tips from
some of the best sources around. Here’s a checklist to ensure you’re ready to get
down to business and write that book and make the most out of National Novel
Writing Month.
1. Register at http://nanowrimo.org for National Novel Writing Month
2. Sign up for a free service like Evernote (evernote.com) to organize your thoughts
and keep your story cloud based so you can access it anywhere
3. Make an outline of your story or write down your premise and main characters
4. Research your story
5. Write down the main character’s objective and purpose
6. Find your perfect “writing spot”
7. Tell your significant other or close friends what you’re working on
8. Turn off all forms of communication (cell phones, etc)
9. Create a time frame that you’d like to get things done, set goals (use the calendar!)
10. Furiously get to writing!
11. Find support with The Novel Blogger Club on Facebook!
