KELLER SUBMITTED BY: TANZEELA SHABBIR SUBJECT: TRAINNING AND DEVELOPMENT SUMMARY This book starts with the qoute : IF YOU CHASE TWO RABBITS YOU WILL NOT CATCH EITHER ONE. That means for achieving extra ordinary results you have to focus on just one thing . If you will focus on so many things at a time you probably will not be able to do all the things effectively why is that so? It is because your focus and concentration will be divided and you will and up doing nothing or not in a right way. KEY POINTS: Small dominos can drop down big dominos all you have to do is ARRANGE THEM RIGHT. Do fewer things with more effects instead of doing so many things with less effects Try to make your focus narrow Not everything deserves equal time. Multitasking is a lie Success is sequential Resting is as important as working Say no frequently PRACTICAL IMPLICATION Create a success list instead of to do list. To do list has all the things that you could to and you should do where as success list has all the things that you should do. The idea is to make things simple and less complicated. Focusing question: ask yourself what I should do first such that by doing so all other things will become easier or less important. This is the way to find out your one thing that’s important. After you have picked your one thing all you need to do is focus on that thing only work on that thing you should reserve some hours and focus on to work on that one thing only. THE DOMINO EFFECT: The small domino can topple the dominos that are 50 times bigger that it. Each standing domino represent a small amount of potential energy the more you line up the more potential energy you have accumulated. AUTHORS: Gary keller and Jay Papasan
