Game Story 1

The SFA Ladyjack Basketball team takes the first place lead in the Southland Conference

with a win of 70-58 against the Lamar Cardinals.

The Ladyjacks took on the Lamar Cardinals at SFA Saturday night. The Cardinals led the

Ladyjacks 17-19 during the first period of the game, with Lamar’s Moe Kinard scoring twelve

points for the team.

During the first period, SFA’s Stephanie Visscher helped the Ladyjacks gain points by

scoring a 2-pointer, then stealing the ball within the next 10 seconds to make another 2-pointer.

In the second period, the Ladyjacks were able to pull ahead 34-29, keeping the lead

throughout the rest of the game. By the end of the third period, the Ladyjacks increased their lead

with a score of 49-37.

During the game, SFA senior Chanell Hayes helped the Ladyjacks win the game by

scoring a total of 30 points. Because of this, she was named player of the game.

The Ladyjacks will next take on the McNeese State Cowgirls Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at

McNeese State University.
