2. Different Catalog scenarios in SRM

2.1 SRM Server supports the following catalog scenarios:

•You access the vendor catalog directly from SRM Server via the Internet. The vendor is responsible for setting up the catalog and maintaining
the contents.

•Using the Internet, the purchaser accesses a catalog that combines the offerings of several suppliers. The catalog broker is responsible for
setting up the catalog and maintaining the contents. Catalogs (for example, industry-specific catalogs) can be located on marketplaces.
•The catalog is within the firewall. The company-specific catalog combines the offerings of several vendors. Often, the company itself must
maintain the catalog based on delivered supplier data files.

•Internal order processing is dealt with using SRM Server. The catalog is based on internal master data, for example, the SAP Product Catalog.

3. PROCESS FLOW OF SRM-MDM :

Below figure shows how catalog data flows to SRM Server from MDM .
3.1 MDM Deployment with SRM:Components

In order to use SRM-MDM , we need mainly three components of MDM

1. MDM Console – To connect the repository and to create new tables and fields
2. MDM Data Manager – To edit the existing Catalog and to download the catalog files.
3. MDM Import Manager – To upload new file (.XLS, XLSX, XML)
3.3 Connecting Catalogs to SRM Server

The Open Catalog Interface (OCI) describes the data exchange between the SRM Server system and external catalog applications. OCI enables
the transmission of selected goods and services from an external catalog to the SRM Server.

The external catalog is located either within the local intranet or somewhere on the Internet

4. Quick Steps to Create to Shopping Cart in SRM from MDM Catalog:

Open SRM Portal :

Click on “Employee Self Services” tab .

Note: Navigation of employee self-service tab is different for every different version of Portal.
Click on “SHOP”…

Select the MDM Catalog for which you want to raise the “Shopping Cart”.
Here we are taking an example of searching “Color Printer”…
After getting the desired results , we can compare the items .
We can always view the cart by selecting or Click on “View Cart” item
Here we have changed the quantity from “1” to “2”.
Once we finalize the items, we can transfer the Items from MDM to SRM Port

Here we have the option to change the delivery dates “Standard Feature “.
Click on “Account Assignment “ tab to view the accounting details:

Overview: Like other data the account assignment is also defaulted based on user attributes in the PPOMA. The default accounting category will
be used, but only the leading field of that accounting category will have starting value, the other (non-leading) fields won't defaulted.

NOTE: The GL account from default settings will be used only for items with the default product category. If the new item has different product
category the system will redetermine the default GL account based on the customizing and badi implementation.
Below image shows few fields Account Assignemnt Category, GL Account number , Business Area..
Here supplier was adopted from the MDM Catalog item as a standard behaviour as shown in below image .
We can always see the approver name under “ Display/Edit Agents” link.
With the help of “Team Shopping Cart” Check box we can share the shopping cart within the team. This also works as delegating/substitute
concept. If anyone is on leave the substitute can take over the shopping cart to amend or take necessary actions.
Once all the details are filled and shopping does not have any errors , we can click on the “ORDER” button to submit the shopping cart.

As shown in below screen we can see that Shopping Cart has been ordered successfully.
