Experiment No.7
To Verify Voltage Division Rule
1. Apparatus:
Following are the apparatus required in this experiment:

 Ohm meter
 Voltage Source
 Connecting wires
 Resistors

2. Procedure:
Following are the steps for this experiment:

1. Take three resistors of different resistances & measure their resistances by Color Band
method.
2. Then set up the apparatus as shown in the figure below.
3. After setting the apparatus, apply voltage of 2V, 4V, 6V, 8V, 10V, & 12V from source.
4. Measure the Current across each resistor by using digital multimeter.
5. Finally, Calculate the readings theoretically, compare them with the observed values.

3. Observations & Calculations:

4. Conclusion:
Following theoretical points are enough to conclude the topic.

 Voltage:
Voltage is the electric force that causes current to flow. It is also known as
emf (electromotive force) or potential difference. All the terms refer to same thing
that is the force that set changes in motion

 Current Division law:

The voltage division rule (voltage divider) is a simple rule which can be used
in solving circuits to simplify the solution. Applying the voltage division rule can also
solve simple circuits thoroughly. Measure the voltage as:
