Sir:

Good Day! I am a member of the Road Safety Advocates, an organization that

promotes and raises public awareness of the risks on the road especially here in Eastern
Visayas. We pose this alarming concern to inform you that one factor that leads to
numerous accidents on the road is the unfinished and on-going road projects of the
government having poor and unsafe warning devices especially under your jurisdiction.

During the entire year of 2019, there are recorded and unrecorded road accidents
involving motorcycles due to poor warning devices planted in these government road
projects. As such, victims of these accidents suffered painful body injuries, while some
of them die. Recently, a motorcycle driver has died due to unfinished road project near
hindang, Baybay City where the driver had no idea that the road he was traversing was
unfinished. He did not also saw any early warning devices to inform him that there was
an uneven portion of the road that cause the accident and his death.

We cannot deny the fact that there are many factors that causes road accidents.
However, these poor and unseen early warning devices in the various government road
projects contributes as a factor in road accidents.

In this regard, we would like to ask from you and your office a productive
dialogue to discuss this problem. We are hoping that this activity be done in any
business day during the 2nd week of January 2020. Our discussion will focus on how to
improve these road safety warning devices, the on-going road projects in your
discussion and the possibility of remuneration for the victims and the families of these
road accidents.

We are hoping for your positive response. Thank you very much.

Truly yours,

Frank Uy
