-what else? Christ is a great teacher,wise master,miracle worker, undisputed philosopher,
powerful leader but paul chose not these things except to glory in the cross
-he chose weakness of God rather the strength of God
-this is what paul is aiming to emulate when he said “imitate me as i imitate Christ”
A. WHAT IS
dead to sin - rom 6:2,10
mortify the flesh - col 3:5
cut off - matt 5:29,30
**cut off the root of the tree not the branches
**take the fish out of the sea (change the environment)
B.HOW TO
1. environment of God's presence
-the environment of the flesh is the world, the spirit is the divine presence
-moses at mt.sinai
-3 disciples at mt of transfiguration
-high priest at the holy temple
-prayer invites you to the divince presence
-HOW? By constant prayers

2. environment of God's word

-buddhist monk, hindu guru, yoga practice deny their flesh & worldliness but they dont have
the words of Christ.
-josh 1:8 joshua was old 70yrs yet he can experience the successful life that is everlasting.
-at the day of resurrection he will be rewarded but the success of the wicked will perish
forever
a. meditate is an alternative of prayer, hence the divine presence is constant
b.abide or keep

C.WHY
a. power and wisdom of God better than wisdom of men
e.g. blessed man psa 1
green pasture psa 23
abundant life john 10:10, eph 3:20
b. its the only one direction of spritual life and there are no alternatives of our own choice

conclusion
-its either you are crucified with him or you will crucify him again
-are you crucified with Christ?
if yes, keep on the firing line and keep growing!
