Structural Analysis I (Project 1)

The Belding below used for a purpose mentioned below. This building is a steel structure
one, consists of steel I-beam, I section column members, and concrete slab with different
grades. Draw the shear force and bending moment diagrams of the remarked beams (B1, B2,
B3, B4, B5) considering the dead load and live load based on the building purpose. Then
calculate the maximum deflection and maximum bending stress at the mid-span of each
beam. Take E = 200 GPa.

1- Building serviceability
a- Hospital Groups (A, B, C, D)
b- Class room Groups (E, F, G, H)
c- Theatre Groups (I, J, K, L, M)
2- Concrete type
a- Concrete, reinforced cinder Groups (G,J,E,C,M,F,A)
b- Concrete, reinforced stoned Groups (B,D,I,G,H,K,L)
3- Concrete thickness (t)
a- (110 mm) groups ( A, E, J)
b- (120 mm) groups (B, F, J)
c- (150 mm) groups (C, G, K)
d- (200 mm) groups (D, L)
e- (210 mm) groups (H, M)
4- Steel I-beam sections
a- Section 1 (w= 100 mm, H= 200, tw= 2 mm, tf= 5 mm) Groups (D,E,K,G)
b- Section 2 (w= 75 mm, H= 150, tw= 2 mm, tf= 10 mm) Groups (A,F,J,M)
c- Section 3 (w= 50 mm, H= 200, tw= 4 mm, tf= 5 mm) Groups (B,C,H,I,L)
