SIGNAL PATH (Christian)

Shot 1 shows 2 tracks in the main window and the corresponding channel strip and his elements.

Shot 2 shows the same channel strip in the environment mixer (open with cmd-7).
Shot 3 shows it in the main mixer (open with cmd-9). The appearance deviates everytime a bit.

The next step is to setup a send and a aux channel, for plug-ins used by several channels, f.e.
reverb.
Shot 4 shows how to activate a send and a aux channel assigned to this send. The procedure is
the same in all windows. In the main window normally you can’t see the aux channels.

Shot 5 shows a setup of two channels, using different amounts of reverb.

For getting more experience with Logic, I have some ideas:
You can read some chapters in the Logic help, which you can open directly in the Logic app. Logic
help is the basic knowledge about the functions of Logic. Please open the side bar for seeing the
titels of the chapters. Help for effects is interesting too for you, because all functions of the effect
plug-ins are explained (f.e. reverb and compression). The chapter “dynamic processors” is very
good for understanding the compressors and limiters of Logic.
In the apple book store there are free books about Logic with good explanations. You can load
them on your smartphone and read it in trains etc.
The numerous tutorials in YouTube I don’t like, because it needs a lot of time to hear and see the
long speeches. But young people like my sons can work very well with these tutorials.
I would experiment with the little exercises I gave you, so you don’t need to be afraid to destroy
something important. You can try to change the parameters and hear, what you do. In this way
you get the experience to decide what to do with a specified track.
