ENG-105
Topic 2, DQ 1

The CDC, created in 1946, serves the purpose of educating the American public about illnesses
& diseases that have the potential to affect daily lives. Various audiences, from concerned
parents to researchers, access CDC web articles.

The CDC, aware that personal beliefs influence citizens the most, gently guides the reader
through a minimally evasive explanation of what is known through current research concerning
the symptoms and treatment of ADHD. Although the diagnosis of ADHD is a complex process,
the CDC carefully uses simple terms to guide the general public on how to recognize symptoms
and seek further help from a trusted medical provider. The CDC provides no definitive
explanation of what causes the disorder, which could cause confusion and misdiagnosis by those
not in the healthcare field.

The US Government must be a source of information regarding illnesses that affect millions of
children and adults in the United States. Many trust and rely on federal programs for education
and support. Lack of communication could potentially lead to misinformed Americans making
incorrect choices.
Awareness is crucial when so many are affected by illness. The government is heavily relied
upon to serve the nation by conducting research, providing education, and submitting an
approach toward ADHD prevention.

Respectfully,
Allechia Jones
