Vivo has managed to come out with another eye-catching phone with an amazing body.

The new phone called the Vivo Nex 3 5G,

is successor to the Vivo Nex. It has a full bezel less display that curves around the sides like the Samsung S7 phone. The body is
very similar to the V17 Pro with the pop-up front camera, this time around with a bigger pop-up placed in the middle.

The phone will definitely be most people’s favorite considering all the specs and features it is providing at a budget friendly price.
The design of the phone also looks very amazing with the aluminum and glass body combo. It will definitely be sturdy phone as
well and probably will manage to be one of the top selling phones once it comes out.
Design

Vivo has come up with one of the best-looking designs for the Nex 3. The Nex
3 features a unique bezel less and a notch less display with unique designs for
the front and rear camera as well. The dimensions for this phone are as 9.4
mm x 76.1 mm x 167.4 mm, for the thickness, width and the height
respectively. It definitely falls under one of the biggest phones and also
contains a tall display at about 6.89 inches. It weighs around 218.5 grams. The
frames of the phone are actually made out of aluminum and the front display
and the back body is glass.

The scree actually curves in the side to give it an infinity display style look and
the finger print is located beneath the bottom-half of the display. The phone
has overall what seems like a matte finish with colors like basic Black and Blue
and other color lines like Liquid Tianhe and Deep air streamer.
Display

Vivo chose to go with a 6.89-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen

and a 16M color display. The display has the screen to body ratio at about
93.6%. The resolution for the display is actually 1080 x 2256 pixels with a
pixel density at about 363 ppi and HDR10 feature.
The difference is that the S7 had a big top and bottom bezel where the
bezels on the top and the bottom in the Nex 3 are almost non-existent. The
manufacturers of the Nex 3 are calling the curves on the sides as a new
‘waterfall’ display.
The display does not seem to have any type of screen protection however
provides the basic touch screen features like the capacitive touchscreen and
multi touch feature. The display also contains a fingerprint sensor beneath
it.
Cameras

The main camera in the back, which is a triple camera setup, is placed in a
triangular way, sort of like a triad, incased in a circular camera bump. The
main camera is placed in the center in the top half. The triple camera is a
combo of a 64 MP f1.8 aperture, 1/1.7”, 0.8µm, PDAF wide angle camera as
the primary lens, a 13 MP f/2.5, (telephoto), PDAF telephoto lens and a 13 MP
f/2.2 aperture ultrawide PDAF lens. The main camera can shoot videos in
2160p at 30fps, 1080p at 30/60/120fps and 720p at 960fps with gyro-EIS. The
image resolution the camera can produce is of 9000 x 7000 pixels which is
better than most cameras in high-end phones. The basic camera features are
10x digital zoom, 2x optical zoom, auto flash, face detection and touch to
focus. The camera modes included are the continuous shooting mode and the
HDR mode.
The front camera is a single 16 MP camera which opens up in a pop-up when
activated. The front camera is a fully monetarized pop-up 16 MP camera with
a f2.1 aperture. The pop-up also has a LED flash. The front camera is also able
to shoot in HDR mode. It can shoot videos is a 1080p at 30 fps resolution.
Performance

The Nex 3 has a Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855+ (7 nm) chipset with
an Octa-core (1x2.96 GHz Kryo 485 & 3x2.42 GHz Kryo 485 & 4x1.8 GHz
Kryo 485) as the main processors. For the graphics, Vivo decided to go
with an Adreno 640 (700 MHz) graphics chip to take full advantage of the
huge display. The processor is of 64-bit architecture and the RAM actually
comes in two variants, an 8 GB variant and 12 GB one. This will make sure
that the display has no lags and is totally stutter free. The Nex 3 comes
with an Android v9.1 (Pie) over Vivo’s custom UI, the FunTouch OS v9.1.

The phone provides an external storage up to 256 GB and dual nano SIM
tray. The fingerprint sensor is placed beneath the display, which a light
powered sensor. Like the name suggest, the one of the newly added
features for the phone is the 5G network availability with all the other
basic network connectivity features.
Battery

The Vivo Nex3 feature a standard Li-Ion 4500 mAh capacity battery. The
battery can last a full day of usage, but considering how much the user uses
the screen on time and the graphics feature while gaming, the results may
vary. The phone also features a fast charging battery at 44W which is quite
impressive. The phone is charged by a USB type-C port in the bottom and
unfortunately does not have wireless charging feature.

Overall the battery is pretty standard and could stand a whole day of use but
the huge AMOLED display and the in-display fingerprint sensor which has to
constantly monitor for the fingerprint may drain the battery faster.
