Population : Parents of foreign students in the schools

Gunma Prefecture.

Detail : 6 sessions of 2 hours, once a month.

Presentations will be in Spanish and Portuguese.

II. Groundwork.

The concept and functions of the family have changed continuously throughout history,
gradually adapting to situations and challenges of today. However, the family will always
be the core of society and play a crucial role in the formation of the people, as the first
agent of socialization that is.

One of the most important functions of the family is the educator, however, for parents to
adequately fulfill this role, they need information and training, so it is important to create
programs for parents as the "Healthy Families" provide them with the tools and skills
necessary to facilitate their role in the best way.

Currently we are in a society where continuously interact with people of different beliefs,
traditions and so there the need to promote respect for individual differences and cultural
identities that we represent.

Clearly, to develop a mutually supportive multicultural fears and intolerances than is

necessary for the family and schools make a permanent work, in order to ensure that
children and young people to take a series of values such as solidarity, coexistence and
tolerance. Only then can we build a society where respect for individual differences and
equal rights for all people a reality.

III. Objectives.

The Healthy Families program seeks to:

1. Provide parents with the tools and skills needed to empower them in their role as
training and emotional support to their children.

2. Collaborate to build a multicultural society where there coexistence equal

relationships between people and where each other's embraces diversity, through the
formation of families with multicultural vision.

- Audiovisual equipment (laptop, projector and speakers).
- Flip charts, sheets, markers, pencils.
- Coordination with school principals and foreign Japanese prefecture of Gunma for
purposes of establishing dates, location and material.
