Speaking Log

Finally, I had long conversations with Americans that I met last week. I talked to
three Americans and one Indian and those guys were very kind to me and They
were really willing to Interact.

The first conversation took place with two Americans at the Kramer restaurant
and to my surprise, they began the conversation. They were having lunch together
I was sitting at the table next to theirs. They asked questions about my nationality
and what I was studying at university. One of them, a geologist, showed a good
understanding of the geography of Brazil and he said that his daughter lived in a
South American country, Ecuador. The photographer, who works for KSU, asked
questions about brazilian culture and the Amazon rainforest.

The third conversation took place in a pub in the downtown. I arrived at the bar
with a group of friends and there we had a chance to watch the concert of a local
band. I met one of the band's owners and we started talking about Brazilian and
American music, we also talked about politics and our conversation only finished
when the band's concert ended. He asked me how close friends used to saying
goodbye in Brazil and I said that brazilian close friends usually hug each other
and he took me by surprise giving me a hug.
