The growing phenomenon in Gayo society is an obstacle in campaigning exclusive
breastfeeding because the community develops a unique understanding that in breast
milk there is "Dena" which is a condition where breastfeeding moms experience a kind of disorder or disease that causes the mother can no longer breastfeed her baby. This study aims to determine the relationship of Dena perception in breastfeeding mothers with exclusive breastfeeding in Bener Meriah District. Dena's perception is assessed from three variables: social habits, mother's habits, and mother's education. The design of this study is a cross-sectional study of 329 samples. The analysis to find out and examine the relationship between Dena perception and exclusive breastfeeding using chi-square test and multiple regression logistic tests to test independent variables of Dena perception most related to dependent variable in the form of exclusive breastfeeding. The relationship between mother beliefs to Dena and education level with exclusive breastfeeding for infants. Both statistic results are 0.01 and 0.007. Meanwhile, there was no correlation between social habits with exclusive breastfeeding in infants with statistic results of 0.1. In logistic regression analysis, the variable of education think is the most dominant variable related to Exclusive Asi where the mother with low education has 1 chance not to give exclusive action to the baby. The conclusion of this research is the variable of education is the most dominant variable with exclusive giving while social and mother's trust to Dena has no significant relationship. Advice for the government to continue to promote for mothers, especially mothers with low education level to be able to always provide exclusive breast milk to the baby
