SOURCES AND METHODOLOGY

The epigraphs engraved in this temple and the Thevaram

Trio’s (Appar, Sambandar & Sundarar) Hymns, about the God and

the place are the primary sources of this study. Books, Journals,

Puranas, Articles, Hearsay, Commentaries, Letter of Reviews served as

the secondary sources. The methodology adopted in this study is

descriptive and analytical.
