Belgrade – Jakarta via Doha

It was my first time flying with Qatar Airways, so I was really excited. My previous long haul flight experience
was 4 years ago when I flew from BUD to CAN via FRA and MUC with Condor. However, Condor as a leisure
airline was completely different from what QR had to offer.
I brought my flight a month before the journey. I was considering going via Budapest, because I live right on
the half way between BP and BG. However the price was much higher. I brought my ticket from BEG for
500EUR, although it would have cost me 650EUR flying from BUD. The biggest difference was that QR
operated an A330 for the morning flight from BUD.

My flight from BEG was at late evening (22:35). The airport was completely empty (despite us and the the
people flying the Lufthansa plane next to ours). My positive conclusion was that the late night flight would be
ideal for a good sleep in the plane. Well it didn’t really succeed. My flight number was QR372 with the usual
A320 and the flight time exactly 4h 50m or even less, I couldn’t remember. However I do remember, that I was
really satisfied with Qatar Airways economy product. It was not even close to AirSerbia’s product, which I in
fact really appreciate. The aircraft was full, which really surprised me due it was late night.

Just an hour after our take of we already got a warm and tasty breakfast with a cheesecake dessert.
I was very amazed of the Oryx One entertaining system. It had all the new blockbuster films and some great
series. Not to forget, I really liked their music offer.

It was 4:25 AM (UCT +01h) in Doha when we landed. Luckily the first plane I saw was my favorite the A350,
however we weren’t taking a gate, which was a bit uncomfortable in the early morning. Surprisingly it wasn’t
cold at all.
The connection time in DOH was both times 3 hours which was just right for this price. I was too tired first to
explore the airport, however I knew that there is an area called quiet room, so I went for a nap.
The quiet room was my third greatest experience at Hamad int. after the inner airport train that I had to take
from gates A to gates E. However my best experience was meeting the fantastic and friendly yellow bear at my
entry to transfer.

I also caught this beautiful aircraft readying for departure to Paris CDG. I just call him whale and he is flying on
him is still on my bucket list. Before falling in love with the A350 the A380 was my favorite.
My next flight was departing at 8:15 AM from gate E Terminal 3. However it was on the other half of the airport,
so I had to take an electrical train (free of charge) for not wasting time on walking. Bytheway I really enjoyed it.
The interior of area E was fascinating and I have never seen an airport as modern and beautiful like this
before. My boarding started one hour before the departure. However they were closing it fast because it was
boarding via bus (Yeyy).

This picture was my proud product of boarding by bus. I was lucky enough to could catch a pretty Qatar lineup
at the background. Probably the reason why we had to board by bus was that the taxiway to the gates were
under reconstruction().

I could never forget seeing for the first time the engines of a Dreamliner. It was so big and beautiful that I
couldn’t find words for it.

Surprisingly our neighbor was also a 787 Dreamliner, so I could get to know the type a little bit more from the
bus.
I think that I have never enjoyed taking pictures of planes so much like photographing the A35K.

Thereupon I shouldn’t leave out how beautiful the wings of the Dreamliner are.
Lining up for take of took the plane a long time, although I don’t regret it, because I could spot some nice

The economy product was again nearly the same, although the aircraft made a big difference overall at least
for me.
I have chosen scrambled eggs again for breakfast, because I couldn’t get enough of them with a pasty
croissant. It was all very tasty. If I remember well it was served again an hour after takeoff.
After breakfast we had 4 hours without getting food, which was a bit long, but I survived it, just like all of us.
However, I did get some sweets from the flight attendants. During my flight there were two flight attendants
from Russia, so I thought I will question them about their opinion of working with Qatar. I heard some rumors
that they don’t have much free time at all. It was all true. Just to quote them: “You won’t enjoy working for
Qatar, if it isn’t the thing you truly want. Because it isn’t just about money, Qatar organizes our lives to be
challenging every day.” They told me that for every flight they fly use to fly with new or other attendants. From
my point of view I see them very brave and purposeful.

My last picture before dark. The clouds were really representing the usual ultra-hot and hazy weather of the
Far East (Somewhere after India).

After my dinner which was lamb stew with noodles. The captain switched on the special mood lights on the
Dreamliner. Again it was something I have never seen on an airplane.

It was 9:25 PM local time (UTC +05h) when we landed. Everything was all right until the passport check. The
next story I’m going to tell you will be an example what you shouldn’t do just before the passport control at
JKT. DO NOT TAKE A PICTURE, AND SEND IT TO ANYONE, SO THAT HE/SHE KNOWS THAT YOU
LANDED. 1. Because it’s prohibited (nobody sees the picture first), 2. They could send you home. Well I was
lucky enough not to be sent home, but it does made my day… well earned. Anyway I could forget this whole
story, because I was still amazed how long I have come. I have just travelled 18hours (with the layover) and
10000 kms from my home. Not to mention I was only 18(and still am). Thank you Qatar and everybody who
made me fell pleasant during the flight. I could only recommended them.
