The 2nd iteration of the event, Start-Up Boot Camp - Fostering the Entrepreneurial Spirit by the E-Cell of

IIM Sirmaur kicked off with the welcome and felicitation of the guests.

The objective of the event aims to guide students about the “CM Start-Up Scheme, Himachal Pradesh” and
inculcate knowledge about the scope, challenges and potential of start-ups in India for various different
sectors. Dr. G.S. Chauhan, GM, District Industries Centre, introduced the scheme to the students.

He defined a startup as 'a young company by one or more entrepreneurs to innovate a unique idea and bring
it to the market', thereby explaining the difference between research and a startup. He further continued to
define the vision and objectives that are needed to make a startup. The incentives given by the government
under the scheme were explained in detail, encouraging students to take up entrepreneurship. He concluded
by laying out the journey of a startup.

After him, Mr. Ishan Pundit and Mr. Prafull Chauhan, two entrepreneurs who have registered and are
building on their startups under the above scheme, talked in detail about their work and journey till now. The
event concluded with the guests being awarded with mementos of the event.
