Creole music day
a) When and why did it begin? It began to be held since October 31, 1944, because they wanted to spread the music of that social class and with that keep them happy. b) Is there any special food? Yes, there are: carapulcra, chicken rice, cebiche and meat brochette. c) Do people wear special costumes or masks? Yes, on that day, men wear white clothes and ladies red and white blouses, costumes similar to the costumes of the time. d) Do people walk round the streets or ride on floats? No, the celebration is in family, each family celebrates at home having a good time. e) Do you have fireworks in the evenings? In some places, there are fireworks, but fireworks aren’t normally used. f) Is music important? What kind of music is there? Music is very important in this celebration, Creole music is recognized by artists such as Eva Ayllón, Lucía de la Cruz, Félix Casaverde, Óscar Avilés and Arturo "Zambo" Cavero. The type of music is Afro-Peruvian.
