VII. CHESS
General Rules:
1. The contest is open to all legitimate students of Yllana Colleges of Business and Arts Inc.
SY. 2019– 2020
2. Each team color is required to partake with 2 participants, free-for-all.
3. An allotted time of 2 hours will be granted to all participants in l Chess; 30 minutes each
round.
4. The competition is an elimination type consisting of 3 rounds, namely in chronological
order Quarterfinals Round, Semifinal Round and Final Round.
5. Same rules apply as to regular chess. Touch Move is implemented; and strictly no resetting
or undoing of move once game has started.
6. Each participant will undergo fishbowl method to pick their corresponding number
representing their position in the Play-off Format and whoever shares the same value will
be opponents of the round; the winner of the Final Round will be the overall champion of
the competition.
7. Participants are expected to follow instructions; reduction of points will be enforced to
those unable to follow the stated set of rules and disqualification for continuous violation.
8. Compliance beforehand is heavily requested as any concerns during and after the event is
unappealable and would not be entertained at all cost.
