Alina User Manual Rosenberger Low Power Digtal Wireless Series Repeater Chapter 2 Product Overview AAs the requirement for mobile communication quality keeps enhancing, the operators of wireless network need to pay more attention to improve the network quality and expand the network coverage. Due to the change of electromagnetic environment and increase of mobile subscribers, those existing BTS may be unable to meet the specified performance requirements and the following coverage problems will occur: High call drop rate Low rate of successful handover 3. Low coverage rate or bad coverage quality 4. Low connection rate 5. Bad conversation quailty To solve all these problems in an alkaround way, only adjusting the cell parameters of the BTS is not enough. The adoption of “BTS + Repeaters” is a better solution that has been verified in many sites in village, highway and tourism regions, especially at the edge of a BTS coverage region. And since the repeater requites fewer accessories and no need special equipment-room, operators can gat more profit from lower construction and operation cost Rosenberger Wireless Repeater is using digital processing technology to detect signals from the wireless space and feedback offset signal, thereby eliminating the self-oscillation to improve the system gain, and the band repeater system is ‘optimzed to enhance signal strength and extend network coverage with excellent performance which deals with interference signals caused by changes of feedback and mult-fading signals due to buildings and obstacles. It also guarantees high call qualty without any deteriorations owning to the consideration of feedback signals removed and measured isolation. Fix the repeater cabinet onto the mounting rack by tightening the M6x60 expansions bolts using adjustable wrench. Make sure the repeater is tightly fixed to the mounting rack and installation is complete. Install Ground Cable of Wireless Repeater Perfect grounding of the repeater is important to protect against voltage surges. These surges could be caused by, for example, lightning. Install the ground cable as follows: 1. Connect the ground cable to bottom of repeater using M8 attachment screw and washer. 2. Connect the other end of the cable to a perfect ground (site or building ground) with a reliable joint. Grounding and bonding considerations 1. Grounding is very important in tower and site applications. Shipped with each repeater, is a#6 AWG, 3foot ground cable with single hole crimp lug connectors on both ends. Installation hardware is provided to attach one end to the bottom of repeater. 2. Keep ground cable as short and direct (no loops or knots) as possible, secure it to a good ‘ground point (metal to metal). 3. Following local grounding practices, the single hole lug is usually re-terminated by the ‘tower crew with a double hole lug and bolted to a dedicated tower ground bus. 4. Inthe absence of a dedicated ground, the tower structure itself can be used by using a exothermic weld joint (not very common) or a mechanical ground clamp. If a clamp is used, it must be very tight and protected from corrosion effects with a corrosion preventative compound. It is recommended that the ground integrty/resistance at any mechanical junction be checked during periods of regular tower maintenance. 5. If ground cable length is too short, customer may make a longer ground cable (#5 AWG) as long as all the mechanical connections are tight and clean. ‘righ © 2079-2016 Rosenberger Technology Oo. Alina User Manual Rosenberger u er Digtal ries Repeater Installing Coaxial Cables DT side: Cable of donor antenna (to BTS) is connected to DT port; MT side: Cable of service antenna (to coverage area) is connected to MT port. To improve the reliabilty of the connection, the connector joint can be protected. This can be done, for example, by installing specific weatherproof tape over the cable connectors. @ Caution: Before connecting any coaxial cables, ensure that the repeater is turned off and that precautions are taken to ensure that the equipment cannot be activated during the Installation, Power supply Power supply of this product is normally AC rang is from 90-220 VAC, 501 0% Hz. 1. Air circuit breaker is recommended to be deployed so that itis easy to cut off the power. 2. AZ>pin plug and socket is a must. Grounding shall he in the good status. 3. Tighten up the grounding cable with the wireless repeater cabinet with grounding bolts, nuts & washer (within accessory package) 4, Install arrester if necessary.
