By: Ingrid Lopez Cruz

About me...

● I live at One7 about 9 years

● I’m 18 years old
● First family member to graduate.
● I’m from De Vera Cruz, Mexico.
● I lived in Charlotte almost my whole life
● Who I look up to is David Garrett
● I will be attending Montreat College
after this year
Need to know

● College students have been stressing out

about tuitions debts.
● About 51% of college students have
dropped out
● 60% can’t afford any colleges
● Most of them can’t go to college because
they are immigrants.
● About 70 to 80 percent of college students
are active in the labor market while enrolled
in college
Solution

● Students are burdened with debt

● Free tuition would mean students would not have
to work so they can focus on their studies
● It would lead to an increase in people prepare for
high skilled jobs
Increasing price of
colleges
Each year, school costs have continued to increase,
even accounting for inflation.

● The average cost of college, including tuition

and room and board, has increased over

150% for both public and private four-year

colleges.

● Between 1977 and 1978, the average cost of

a four-year degree from a public school was

$8,180, while the cost for a nonprofit private

school was $17,010.

● The cost is now more than twice that amount

and will be moving up to three times

Why Free Tuitions

We need College Tuition to be free for eligible

students and students that need it. Colleges
should be free because...

● Many students have an income to get a loan

or to pay for it and that affects their studies.
● If the colleges are free they don’t have to
work and they can focus more on studies. If
the students graduate without a debt it is a
good for the whole nation and the economy.
● If the colleges were then it will lead towards
benefitting the nations for better
development and advances in everything.
Benefits

It will help so much for the college students if

college is free. It can help them to focus more
and study everyday. It will be better for the
students to just buy supplies for what they
need so they don’t have to worry about their
debts to reach success.

● More students going to college

● Study what they want to be
● Not worrying about debts
● Be successful
