ABSTRACT

This research will discuss the language skills of children aged two years and three months. The author
only tries to observe the conversation between Baim and those around him, so that whatever vocabulary
is mastered by a two-year-old child of three months according to his cultural and environmental
background. Based on the background that has been presented by the author, the formulation of the
problem of this study, namely how the language skills of children aged 2 years? The purpose of this study
is to describe language skills in children aged 2 years.

The author hopes this research is useful to add insight into psycholinguistic theories that have been
obtained during lectures, and can be used as a reference by other researchers who want to study the
language skills of children aged 2 years in the future. In addition, through this research the writer hopes
to inspire parents out there to pay more attention to the growth and development of their children.

The method of data acquisition used by the author is the listening method, with advanced techniques,
namely the skill of engaging in competent listening and note taking techniques. The data analysis
method used by the author is a method of sharing with the basic technique for direct elements and
advanced techniques: insert and change techniques. The author also uses the equivalent method. The
results of data analysis are presented in an informal method. The results of this study are that children
aged two years and three months have been able to say two words or more even imperfect sentences to
express intent. Children are also able to use the greeting words appropriately. The vocabulary mastered
by children aged two years and over six months depends on the social environment and their experience
in seeing objects or something around them.
